Thank you for your answers guys! About the full usage of the four channels, I didn't feel comfortable about this because I was afraid to make some cacophonous music, so one pulse channel has basic rhythm, the other one has primitive melody, and I love the wave channel with distorted synth producing bass and advanced melody. It's a personal point of view. I will obviously try to use the potential of the 4 channels and to turn down my basses, I love experimenting and having multiple recipes to cook in different ways.

Really, huge thanks to you, you are the first people actually orienting me somewhere.

Well, I've made 2 tracks at the moment:
-Modded HEX-PRMNT 00 (the first one)
-LIGHT DPNDNC (the newest)

I'll feel more comfortable with some feedbacks, even from non-experimented people, so, what should I develop? what should I not redo? What did you liked the most?
Also, I've never composed before, so, if you have any tricks, feel free to tell me! I don't know anything about solfege (and I don't really want to learn it), but I'm comfortable with pianos and guitars.

Actually, I've never heard about a tool to convert midi to gbs or sav for lsdj.
But when I'm doing covers on LSDJ, it's basically to learn how music is structured, why does it sound good, etc. and I feel like I'm learning a lot. The 100 hours you will pass inputting, they will not be wasted if you want to learn from your favorites bands (I presume if you want to do such a big project, you will take songs and musics you're loving).

Before reading the answers, I was thinking about the Teensyboy, and kineticturtle is mentioning it. Teensyboy seems to be the best and easiest way to make USB-midi works on a gameboy without the need of a computer.

Also, there's an internal Teensyboy shield project on this thread, but if I've correctly understood the OP, you'll have to wait some time before it will get released.

I was thinking that Teensyboy didn't act as a USB Host but just as a Device?

Ow, can anyone confirm this?
At least, you can add these shields to an arduino (or Teensy or RasPi) : http://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/usb-host-midi

I've searched on instructables, I can't find anything but arduinoboy related tutorials, not Teensy hmm

And I've searched on Google too, but maybe I can't find the good keywords. (English is not my native language)

Hey buddy, thank you for your answer!
If I understand correctly what you say, you placed the Teensy in the battery compartiment, correct? And both Teensy and GameBoy are powered by mini-usb, that's it?

And also, do you have a link to the tutorial you've followers?

It's been a few month now, and I've keep searching for integrated Arduinoboy (or Teensyboy) tutorials, but I think this is an empty box.

Even just tips about the placement of the components inside the case would be great.

Neither batteries or external powering work? Maybe the ON/OFF button has passed out.

Let's get to serious things, do you have any idea about the price of this awesome thing?

Also, how can we do USB-midi in with the USB-B port? I don't know if male USB-B to female USB cables exist.
Oh, and do you plan to make a version for pockets and/or color?

Wow. That's absolutely awesome.
But, the Teensy components are not in the shield, right?
After desoldering the components for fitting the shield, will a modified Link cable with B-USB connection work with normal mutiplayer games?

physics will prevent this from ever happening.

Is this a problem of size? Or do we have to consider the quantic state of the frontlight?

More seriously, what is the problem?

I just found this some minutes ago! If you're a GameBoy dev and you want to do a compo for this jam, you'll have to be quick, because it ends the 2nd of December!

Hope to see some great things this year!

Tux Guitar is cool, it shows you the tab, but also the score, and can load many non-wave music files. (I don't know Guitar Pro, because TuxGuitar is free)

You can make an awful automatic midi file here: http://www.ofoct.com/audio-converter/co … -midi.html and then rework it. I don't know it it would be easier to do it by ear, but it could be an option to consider.

Here's the one I made and still use.

Woah, yours is very simple. But it's very universal! I think it doesn't look like a legit cartridge, but not in a bad way. It looks like a hommage to the underground games makers. And after all, LSDJ is an underground non-licencied rom!

And for the one Catskull did, it seems to go directly from the mind of a 80's hacker, that's so cool.

EDIT: when I've done mine, I was thinking about making it in the official-ish nintendo (and lsdj site) style.
And also, Catskull, in the template you've used, the code on the left is the code for Pokémon Red (that's why it's a red cartridge designed here). It's ok because no one really care for those details except me wink
