Why didn't they put the filter of the Monotron, change to a new engine? The concept of the device itself is OK but as I said, be it delays, filters or anything, it sounds way too digital, the filter of course being the worse of them all.

This was done last weekend in Celsius' backyard tongue

I hate NAMM time, gear lust is in an all time high, while money is in an all time low sad

Enough with Kaosspads, unless they upgrade their shitty sounding engine.

One thing I despise about the PSP is the delayed start. This was mentioned a few pages back, but I must reiterate how it's horrible if you're planning on doing DJ style sets aka triggering mixes manually by ear.

The GP2X has a far worse start time. But the card read access is lower, same for the Caanoo.
Wedanced: I expect to make a little write up for TCTD this weekend.

Checking!

[edit] Heard, cool!
Also spotted a Nullsleep set... is this a hint of a forthcoming Nullsleep vinyl on RG?

The thing that makes it seem more viable about the Caanoo is that at least you don't have to go and build any sort of device. It might take a bunch of code prowess, but no dealing with the invention of special hardware.

At least you can still sync, with a click track.

When exactly is this? One guy has a digital camera so this is not very old.

Caanoo MIDI seems likely because Caanoo has a USB host, meaning you can plug any USB MIDI interface and be done with it.
But then again, first a driver needs to be written for LGPT to accept the MIDI interface...

Go Mixmaster Mike! big_smile
It's incredible that these kids have not seen any of this stuff. Things have advanced real fast.

Going hardware is an expensive one way ticket to frustration and bankruptcy tongue
Get a decent software you pay for (VDMX, Modul8, Resolume, Arkaos) or for free (VVVV, Quartz Composer, OpenTZT) and get going with that. As long as you have a computer this is the best way to go.

I read the Gemeis are absolute shit.
The Caanoo is most recommended, and its USB host ability -might- allow MIDI interfaces to work with Ze Pig.

Part of the allure of making music using the Game Boy is portability.  Your solution would not fit in my pocket.

You can still use LSDJ for such task, albeit inconveniently tongue
Or get a C64 emu on a PSP running Prophet64

WOO options! big_smile

The reason this could be great is because you would be able to make very complex instruments that utilize all four channels of sound capability that the gameboy has.

I was indifferent to this idea, then went back and re-read this post and saw this part.  This is where the bread and butter of this idea really is.

And that is exactly what I said is possible with mGB. Using it as a MONOPHONIC (1 SEQ CHANNEL), 4OSC instrument out of the GameBoy. But OP insists it's not what he said. Weird huh.
