♡‿♡KNIFE CITY♡‿♡

Knife City is the latest incarnation of Luke Silas' lifetime fascination with both making music and classic video games. He uses a pair of Game Boys to produce music meant for dancing. He also plays drums for the NYC chip-rock band Anamanaguchi, who are returning to perform for their third year at PAX's main concerts.

♡‿♡ZEN ALBATROSS♡‿♡

Zen Albatross is a rare musician/journalist hybrid from Brooklyn, NY that uses homebrew software and ancient spirit magicks to craft introspective elegies and infectious dance beats for the Nintendo Game Boy. When he's not playing gigs or stuck on a New York City subway train, he writes articles about technology, music and videogame culture for Vice Magazine's nerd news portal, Motherboard.

Wow, look at that swag. Fangamer's designers do amazing work.

Here's hoping those gray Bitboy shirts and pin sets last into an era when I actually have money to throw around.

FRIDAY THE THIRTEETH

Best day of the year to go to a show in the shittiest part of Bushwick.

I'll be there. My wallet, however, is staying home.

This one time I was rescuing a litter of kittens from a capsizing sea vessel in the mid-Atlantic when a dying albatross dropped on the decks. With his last squawky breaths, he told me that the way to enlightenment was through designing CSS templates and writing music with a Game Boy.

I have an unhealthy fascination with Carl Sagan, airships and things with gears in them.

RDE has become an Elder Dragon God.

ORIGINOO GLITCHNESSAZ

Amazing lineup. But being flat-ass broke and without the festival pass that I requested from Motherboard two weeks ago, it's looking pretty grim for me. Unless there's a guest list someone could put me on, that is 0___o

There's an app for that.

Rest assured, no one on that shitty site is making any money. It's just a vapid hole feeding garbage into news aggregators.

But seriously, is anyone actually *offended* by the words of this "writer"? I think it's hilarious. All the eloquence of a Justin Beiber fan club forum post.

Chill out, chums.

I kind of want to move to your city now. There were more people at this show (on a Tuesday) than like, the last 2 or 3 NYC shows I've been to combined.

See Also: Really good beer. Lots of it.
See Also: Girls that actually go to chip shows.

How much of this, if any, was a hallucination derived from my 50+ hours of sleep deprivation?

Thanks to Brana for shooting it and uploading it before I even woke (or sobered) up!

Mucho gratzi for posting this. Was totally gutted I had to miss it, and the show too, of course.

FOX's viewership is amazing. Truly one of the most culturally open-minded and well-spoken audiences on the planet:

FloridaJayHawk: my cat is howling at the tv - where is the gong? @claytonmorris #horrible #music @foxandfriends"

criekert: @foxandfriends Bright Primate was absolutely horrible. It actually made my teeth hurt. smile Seriously, don't ever do that to the viewers again

tlbeman: @foxandfriends Are you guys kidding about this Bright Primate garbage? Its a joke right?

michaelwjones: @foxandfriends Ouch!!!!! Please never do that again! Horrible music. Otherwise I love Fox and Friends

BLAM!

Thanks for the umbrella pole POV video, Note!

And seriously, thanks so much to everyone that came to this. The turn-out was amazing, the fireworks were close and the music was incredible. Doing it again real soon.

Chiptune shows are pretty rad. But they're even better when they're on rooftops overlooking the twinkling Manhattan skyline, surrounded by fireworks, friends and food.

Bleeps Over Brooklyn is the first in a series of outdoor chiptune concerts happening in high places throughout NYC's number-uno borough. At our July 4th launch party, lo-fi jams from Minusbaby, Oxygenstar, Zen Albatross and Note! will accompany the deafening pyrotechnics, blasting danceable bleeps and bloops into the color-filled night sky.

**MINUSBABY**MINUSBABY**
**MINUSBABY**MINUSBABY**

Long-time 8bitpeoples member, minusbaby, born Richard Alexander Caraballo in New York City, trades in counterpoint, subtle dissonances and surprises. While it may be impossible to predict exactly what will happen at each performance, one constant can be expected: a forceful, equatorial beat. Each familiar song is given new variation while the center holds it down with a bassy bottom end to make anything bump and bounce that hasn't been tied down, exploding the very meaning of 8-bit orchestration.

**OXYGENSTAR**OXYGENSTAR**
**OXYGENSTAR**OXYGENSTAR**

To fully comprehend the force that drives OxygenStar (Carl Peczynski), one must travel back in time to '96 when MTV was still playing music. Inspired by Michael J Fox's performance during the 'Enchantment Under the Sea' dance, Carl was immediately drawn to the sound of an electric guitar. From that day forward, Carl developed an ongoing interest in other instruments, such as piano and the drumset. Self-taught and just out of high school, he took to working on solo electronic projects. By the year 2000, OxygenStar quickly became the most important adventure of Carl's musical pursuit and has grown far too large to be contained in his apartment.

**ZEN ALBATROSS**ZENALBATROSS**

Zen Albatross uses homebrew software and ancient spirit magicks to craft introspective elegies and infectious dance beats for the Nintendo Game Boy. It is recommended that his music be heard while aboard a steam-powered airship, but in the event that this setting is somehow unavailable, land-based listening is an acceptable alternative. His album is coming out soon. Maybe.

**NOTE!**NOTE!**
**NOTE!**NOTE!**

Note! makes music using antiquated hardware synths, video game consoles and circuit bent toys. Being a percussionist first, much of his music revolves around strong beats and rhythm play. While his music tends towards the more upbeat, you can easily find darker and more aggressive tracks change the mood.
