I dunno. Drop it in and see. smile Though I'm gonna guess not.

Yeah, or ask someone to "re-cap" your old GBs to put some new life into the worn power supply. I suspect more and more people will be looking to do this as even the nearly ubiquitous gameboy DMG continues to become harder to find in working order. big_smile Good luck!

Aw crap, 3 PM? There goes me being at the show... totally missed it. hmm

The page 1 issue is fairly well known by now. Page issues could indicate a faulty capacitor on the cartridge board and/or weak batteries in your Gameboy. The cartridge uses a capacitor to "sense" if the GB's power has been cycled quickly or not. If this capacitor is not holding a proper charge or has become shorted it's possible that the page changing circuit will freak out. This has been reported so much that I suspect there may have been a bad batch of capacitors that went through at EMS. I have never been in possession of a misbehaved cartridge yet so I cannot confirm this explanation, but it's the best one I have been cable to come up with. The only other one I can think of is that the cap isn't draining properly (drain load not looked up properly etc) but again, I haven't had to test this because mine has always worked. You could see if Nonfinite will cover replacement, wait until someone develops a fix, or keep using it with LSDJ on both banks.

However, there is one thing you should know: the cartridge will not, even when it's working properly, cycle reliably between bank 1 and bank 2 just by flicking the power switch back and forth. To get from bank 1 to bank 2 you are supposed to flick it off and then on again, but to get back to bank 1 without corruption you need to power the GB off for long enough to reset that capacitor "sense" circuit. For most working carts this delay is only a couple of seconds, but if yours is working improperly you might want to try longer.

Need to pick a new server or host one. The namerehwon.no-ip.info is down.

Just noticed this: apparently if you just grab the latest Skulltag release and put it in with the MM8BDM you can play Mac OSX and Linux.

I wonder if Locks will want to play this and/or host a special CM.O server.

Well, just the update I posted about 1 week ago. Fear not, things are still going, just no big huge glamorous updates right now. Oh, I got some NPN transistors today and I'll be making more cables tomorrow, if that counts as an update. I haven't got any updates to report for software, and the mundane beta builds have been, well... mundane. smile

EDIT: in other words, stay tuned and be patient and you will eventually receive real updates. Hehe.

I'll play!

Well, if it's preset samples then it should be possible to hack those, I should think.

Wait huh? Did someone slip up and use his secondary account to post in here? XD

Wow, this looks like a very competent tracker. I'm gonna have to play with it, just to say I did.

If you wanted to do a little extra work (IE, punish yerselves) you could order without soldermask (GASP) and then apply your own in whatever stylish color you wanted. Heck, you could take clear soldermask and mix in dye. Of course, you'd need to mask the boards etc etc etc. Lots of work for not very much gain. smile

Yeah, most people do, actually. Sorry, I been kinda swamped with non-electronic related stuff lately, so I can't share my estimate, since I haven't done it yet. wink When I do give Neil his estimate I'd be happy to PM the numbers to you if you'd like, so you can get an idea of how much it costs to do his project "by the book."

Well, LSDJ won't run. Neither will any GBC tracker stuff. Which leaves Nanoloop GBA version, and any other GBA music software.
