thinking about letting a buddy of mine get in there and get hacking at it.

I know that you can add a line out to the gba sp. since this is basically a gba under the covers it should have a similar set of chips right? so a line out mod from the accessory itself seems possible...

BTW if any of you guys are interested in having a game boy player they are rather cheap on ebay. just make sure they come with the disc since finding the disc on its own is not easy.

hey e.s.c. I listened to each and the modded dmg is superior. there is a low volume hum on the gamecube side. also the modded dmg just has a better idk.... like a nice full sound. might just be my imagination. in any case that hum is what I would want to get rid of.

awesome. I will give it a go soon. gonna get a tv tuner soon to be able to play on my pc monitor.  My pc does not have video in at all so I gotta get one of those.

Except for the fact we don't have signatures here.

I am crying inside.

Wondering if anyone knows a way to add a line out to the gamecube or even directly on the Game Boy Player accessory itself. I have not checked the fidelity of the stock rca cables just yet but I have a feeling it is not going to be perfectly clear. Alright thanks for any info.

anyone with experience using the gamecube to make songs on lsdj feel free to add some info on your experience. thinking of making this my preferred at home console for composing on lsdj. Thanks big_smile

EVERYTHING must be fucking FAST sweeping arpeggios at generally 120bpm...NO FUCK THAT 200bpm and ONLY 200bpm.  And bitch I better not hear you using any CHORD nonsense or I'll straight up smack your face off.  Back those ballin' melodies with BASIC percussion Don't you DARE get crazy with that shit, I mean BASIC, son...use ONLY a snare on AT MOST the downbeat of each fast motherfucking measure.  I also want to hear as much DELAY as you possibly can...I mean I want to slam that play button down, hear one of those kickin' nasty arps, close out of the program and then hear that shit in my MIND a week later.  Finally, are you using anything other than a 4/4 time signature?  Cut that shit out.  Only 4/4 works and you better try as hard as you fucking can to remember that.

I am so tempted to add this to my signature.

saw this earlier. amazing. I assume he was using his arduino interface along with some sort of hacked up breathalyser? amazing.

I've hacked a nuby light to be powered by a gameboy's internal batteries. It's ugly, but it works great. It's a bit permanent though. smile

that is pretty cool.

planning on buying a gameboy micro especially for this smile

these really remind me of the old hell.com exhibits.
back before they all went lame...

sidewayspony.com was always the source for tons of gifs.
but the site has been down for a while now...

I always loved hell.com back in the day. I have ALWAYS wanted to do stuff like hell.com. HOW CAN I DO EEEET.

I have a love-hate relationship with BRK

I really like this idea. looking forward to it.

can I mention a whole country as a musical influence? because when it comes to chip tune all I have to say is AUSTRALIA.

Nullsleep. He has good taste.

For me I suppose it is hard to pinpoint. At any point in time I might be influenced by a whole different set of ideas. Sometimes I like things that are fast and to the point so punk and particularly post punk has had a big influence on me (Wire, early Devo, Crass, Gang of Four, Mission of Burma.... I could go on for a while).

Other times I find myself influenced by more noisey kinds of music (Sonic Youth, Dan Deacon, early Animal Collective, Health, NY no wave bands, Wolf Eyes, Lightning Bolt... again I could go on).

And other times I am influenced by things that are more peaceful sounding (Enigma, Enya, Underworld, Beach House, A Silver Mt Zion or any Constellation records band like Godspeed, etc etc).

I could list tons more and I would say they all influence me at different moments in time depending on my mood. Ultimately it does not show that much in my music (yet) because I am still just a noob but I am getting there. The sound in my head is pretty awesome though haha
