Wow! I was like *this close* to buying or building a USB MIDI host... how soon will you be ready to release the v102 firmware, yathink?

i mean, it could come out today if people are keen.

the updates at this stage would be:

GenMDM Firmware Interface

* Native MIDI 5 pin DIN support via user-end hardware modification
* More cohesive handling of SSG-EG in terms of mapping - every OP and CH is catered for
* Storage and recall of 15 different RAM-based instruments for VERY quick instrument changes
* Reduced the sample storage ROM area by 2KB
* Simplified and restructured sample code and sample storage ROM area
* The current samples are just some 808 samples

GenMDM Tools

* FM channel editor has been redesigned to take up less space on screen
* FM channel editor includes new parameters for SSG-EG on an OP by OP basis
* FM channel editor includes RAM store and recall parameters
* FM channel patch store and recall system with space for 128 instruments, external file import and export, renaming of instruments, automated instrument recall... <----- this is an important one

If people are happy with these updates, I can put GenMDM 102 out ASAP smile

Dude, that's awesome - would you be able to post pics of your build process? Love it!

I'm keen to see your soldering solution.

You'll need 5v from somewhere too....

Could you see it on the vid or did you check the UART pins on the teensy?

Yep! D2 aka digital pin 7.

It's not in the current firmware though sad

OK so um that was easy...

Support for 5 pin DIN MIDI connection works great!

Oh man I love that GUI! Great work man.

oh awesome! I'll check it out smile

Thanks walt!

my feeling with the SSG-EG is that anyone who uses that as a function will be fine with having the On / Off and Value attached to the same cc number...

aly, i am running out of CC numbers!

so... basically... it's a compromise...

at least for the moment.

the ccvalue 0 - 127 >> 0 - 15 --> SSG-EG register

SSG-EG B0000XYYY

So that the same MIDI CC command both turns the SSG-EG on and also selects the setting for the shape.

make sense?

also: i am thinking of implementing an instrument setting format using a text file, so that instruments can be easily swapped between users AND instruemnts can be swapped between the M4L device and the (eventual) standalone editor...

ok ill make it so that the next version will not have this issue smile

this issue is a result of bpatcher object behaviour.. weird...

i believe you! which os are you running? which max version?

oh walter, thats the perfect site name for my thread lol
