One thing which I guess is tangental to this in a way. Anyone sold anything from their set up which they really regret? I have tried out lots of bits of gear, but the only thing I really wish I hadn't sold is my Micron. BEAST of a little synth.

I don't think Kaz uses his powerglove as part of his set up, just a kind of awesome little flourish

This might be slightly off topic but I thought it was awesome

I was walking through town today and there is this absolutely kick ass area filled with xmas decorations made almost entirely out of 500 ml plastic bottles.

Its a bit difficult to see what is going on so I will try and explain.

The big wall is made of a grid of square plastic bottles, about 70 ish by 60 ish. Each bottle has an LED mounted where the lid would be. The neck of the bottle is then attached to the wall. repeat this about 4000 times to make the grid you see in the picture. We are looking at the bottom end of the bottles.

The array is attached to a PC running some nifty bit of code, which outputs input of a webcam directly to the "LED wall"

The camera is positioned at a slightly odd angle quite low to the ground so what you can see on the wall is me taking a photo being viewed from about 2 feet of the ground and 1 foot in front of me looking up about a 75 degree angle.

I don't really know how useful this is but if someone is looking to make a semi permanent display for visuals on a budget and has a crap ton of LEDs and plastic bottles and a handy coder it might be a fun project!

Midibox evil genius Wilba is working on a follow up to the kick ass Sammich Sid called the sammich FM. It is built around the opl3 sound chip (hence the forum choice) and looks to have a few rather kick ass advantages

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wilba/sets … 234395526/

- Awesome Wilba pcb's
- complete chip and parts set (according to a mail I got from him)
- Similar price to the Sammich Sid (again in the mail)
- I THINK judging by the pictures it runs off a single wall wart? I see voltage regs in one of the pictures, this means no hassles with different PSU voltages! (pure conjecture on my part)

Yay!

The only word I head about it being released at all was here

And this mentioned it being early 2010.

If you want to give me your dingoo, I will set is up for you mate.

Bleo has a zip with all the junk to get piggy to auto boot somewhere but I can't find it off hand. I will ask him when I see him on line.

Edit, found it ! http://hexawe.net/mess/bleHOLe/PIGDOO.zip

The cheapbeats poster is by the awesome m7kenji and I am fairly sure Jules did the poster for the tour himself.
