I listened to this yesterday, upbeat and very well done. great compositions.

Hey there,

I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I should share it here.

I recently teamed up with a couple visualists to make videos for my new release "Meta".

The concept for the album is "state of movement and thought on abstractions".

The first video is for a song called "First and Last" and it was created by Aday.

it is upbeat and has a change half way through

Here is the second video by d-strct for the song "Who knows cold"

It's much more somber and glitchy

oh i didn't see this, will check it out.

So i use a NES for my music but i have never found a good way to remove the noisy hum from the output of the Noise/Triangle/PCM channel.

It has a really noticeable hum at 50/60hz which is problematic. (at least i think is at 50/60hz)

I always have to remove the noise in mixing and mastering.

I would really rather have another methodology.

Is there a way to make the noise not so noticeable?
say invert and mix the 50/60hz buzz from another location on the circuit board?

Any ideas or tutorials about this would be helpful.

Thank you.

I have not heard of any such methods other than what "e.s.c." has already described. But why would you want to do that??? hmm

Analog distortion of the original game system is part of the charm.

However, you should look up a bloke named Tiido Priimägi. He has cleaned up the audio with his own special circuit mod on the Sega Genesis Model 2. He might know how to do something for the NES... or might know who does.

Look at the bottom of this page: http://www.tmeeco.eu/ABOUT.HTM

I have used a stereo modification in my NES for many years now. Currently, I have the low-gain mod installed.

it is better but still no matter what I do, there is a buzz/hum that is quite annoying.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, looks like I will have to just accept the way it is since I seem to be using a more optimal setup already.

Some background on the idea for the release 'Granta Digital':

This release is the first release where I used generative synthesis and no hardware.

I used only the 3xOSC Synthesizer in FL Studio to generate all sounds.
There are no samples used for the music on the whole release.

The concept was to try and emulate chiptune music creation tactics using a limited synthesizer.

This is similar to the use of analogue synthesizers so generate all sounds,
which was common in early electronic music, but of course I am using more modern methodologies.

Thanks everyone for the support!

ok this is what i thought, there was something else for the flashing

so the FTDI is just for USB<->SERIAL interface,
and the cart flasher is to read and write to the EEPROM on the cart
Does that sound right?

Hellooooooo,

Someone gave me a bleepbloop cart a while ago, I have been using it but I would like to back up the cart.

I understand that this program "MProg3.5" can read the FTDI, but I want to backup the image on the cart.

gameboydev.org does not seem to exist anymore so I just need someone to point me in the right direction.

Is there some software used in conjunction with "MProg" to backup and write to the cart?
