Re: Can I use my computer as a mixer? (16 replies, posted in Audio Production)
You're trying to use your computer as an EQ, not as a mixer
just a friendly correction
You really just want to get a D/A converter (audio interface) of some kind, game boy in, EQ VST like the one ant1 mentioned running, EQ'd gameboy out.
Personally, I would consider that two unnecessary D/A conversions and I would find a cheap EQ somewhere. The only real benefit of using the computer (assuming you use free software and already have an interface) is that it's free.

edit Most everything is gone, thanks guys! I'll send anyone who wants it a surprise box of electronics goodies, including the two remaining items, for the cost of shipping.
Sesame street toy - not circuit bent, but has a 1/8" output. You could probably do a little bit to bend this, but it's pretty modern. Makes a lot of pretty amusing sounds (a different sound for every control on the front)

Run OS9, and put your word processor in the startup folder. You'll hardly have to touch the "laughable" OS at all, since this is the only thing you intend to use it for.

The esx-1 is a great machine and very versatile. You won't regret it. MIDI implementation is perfectly fine, and you'll have no trouble syncing.
