Can't get enough of Incident Zero. This track shows master use of the format.
Not that the rest of the album isn't totally awesome, because it is on so many ways.

Who cares about the gears. That ClockBoy looks simply amazing.
Totally gotta listen to this.
Zan-zan has always been my personal chiptune #1 fave and this is just a goldmine.
128 (0x8F counting 0x00) frames with 256 (0xFF counting 0x00) rows each is the max you can have in FT. Which allows for 32,768 (0x8000) rows.
And yes, your math is absolutely wrong, LOL. I could import every NSF into Famitracker through Rainwarrior's hack and none even touch the 0x60 mark (96 frames).
Or do you mean the Famitracker files? Because
A) you can import nsfs into famitracker now with some success.
B) You can man up and do it by ear. Open up in notsofatso, seperate channels, and slow down the tempo.
Yeah, I know, I could do that; but having virt's own FTMs would be actually being able to see exactly how it was done, see his tricks of the trade and whatnot.
But yeah, asking for them when he's not offering them openly feels a little... out of line.
This is a masterpiece. A true, honest to goodness masterpiece.
If for some reason I couldn't realize how douchey I would look if I did, I'd be bugging the hell out of Virt for his source files.
Do you consider chipmusic to be "retro"?
And if you don't, do you think it's a bad thing that chipmusic is considered "retro"?
This is something that has been bugging me for a while. I've read a bunch of conversations and articles around about how "chiptunes aren't retro" (This article seems like a good example) and I wonder, why is it so important to detach the "retro" tag from chip?
I do consider it to be retro, really. Aside from (certain) module formats, chipmusic isn't something you could categorize as new; especially since most of the time it is made through reusing hardware from several generations ago. That surely counts as something retro. And I don't think there's anything wrong with it being "retro"; I can't think of one reason for the association to be harmful for the concept of chipmusic. I mean, most of the time "retro" is used for good effect, right?
Dammit Rushjet, can I get the source for Son of Flynn?
"but I'll let them beat me any day."
OOOOOH KINKY~
Exams are coming up. I seriously doubt I'll be submitting anything to Winter Chip this time.
...Apart from the cover art I already did.
I've had sex with three chicks who are career musicians (two singers, one pianist) and one A&R rep from a major label.
Not THAT kind of experience, man.
I had very little musical training when I was very very young, and played an extra once at some christmas-oriented opera play. Also when I was very little.
After that traumatic experience, I forsook any kind of musical training. To this day I've never taken any other musical-related class.
Which I'm now ashamed of, because I'd love to be able to play a few instruments.
Got everything done.
One of my entries might be revealed before Famicompo results are ready, for reasons ~currently undisclosed here~. LOL
Because it fit in the timeslot, I decided to jam Meep #071 as raw data within a bitmap.
This is the result. LOL It's like I'm a glitch visualist, right? (Let me answer myself: "No you aren't.")
Proof: Save this BMP as it is, and load it up on Audacity as raw data, U-Law encoding, no endianness, mono, 0 bytes offset, 100%, 44100 Hz. Listen. Yeeeeeah.

This needs to become a regular thing.
In-fucking-deed.
Dammit, I wonder if I'll complete even ONE entry for this
I should have shit already done for this kinda occasions
