You could be right actually, there's no artwork credit on the release — I'd made that assumption just based on how similar the style of the sleeve is to other artwork of hers that I've seen (quick examples below taken from her Twitter / Facebook accounts) --

Don't know — I'm pretty sure it's her, but I could be off the mark.

whoa, where can i get this coova release??

I wish I knew -- she had them for sale when she played in NYC a few years ago (that's where I picked my copy up) but beyond that I couldn't say.

Burst out laughing at this. Thanks for indulging me in the question, it's great to get a peek into the process. I would never have the courage to build something from scratch in a tracker in front of people, that's brilliant. Hats off to you.

OK I just have to comment again on how good this is in general, but also in particular how much the programming blows my mind. I'm dying to know — what's your process like in general? It hit me when listening to this album how organic your tracks are (in general, not only on this album) — tracks evolve very naturally, there's almost no straight repetition, and really a lot of parts sound like live improvisation. Is everything tracked out? Or do you combine programmed material and live performance? Discounting vocals, I mean. I'm talking more about the instrumentation, leads, percussion, stuff like that. Sorry to fanboy out and I'm mad I never really thought to ask you this in person, but I guess I've just become somewhat enamored with our true leader the Cyber-Tsar and speaking as a loyal subject I wanted to present some humble inquiries.

Haha yes, same here -- the people demand a tracklist.

(The album is great incidentally)

HNNNGGH so good so good

In the chipmusic world, the tunes are often great and all. But sometimes release artwork is just killer in its own right. So I thought it might be fun to start a thread specific to the particular medium of awesome chipmusic album artwork.

To kick things off, here is a knowingly incomplete sampling of a few of my own highly-subjective favorites. Providing credit where I can / where it's known.

Yeah that's the plan. Bud Melvin sent me an old NL cartridge for that purpose, 1.2 or 1.3. (The yellow type.) Weren't you supposed to lend me one of the older cartridges, the version that Bud didn't send me, for experiments? My memory is hazy.

Amazing news. So glad this is part of the plan. I don't think you & I had made arrangements for a loaner cartridge, but I could also be misremembering. The versions I am most interested in being able to back up / restore are v1.1 (yellow cartridge) and v1.2 (grey battery-backed cartridge). If you've got a source for a yellow cartridge, that's almost certainly v1.1. I don't think I have any spare copies of 1.2 that I can relinquish, but if you're still in need of one of those, let me know and I can double check my Cartridge Mausoleum.
