Seems like the mountain should move to me.
EDIT: I'm being a dick, and plus the analogy doesn't really hold. But the point is that software being developed for existing, non-custom hardware is entirely reasonable.

Also you can add this to your google cal:
Unfortunately this has pretty much gone derelict. It was a fun exercise to maintain this for a while, but it ended up proving too time consuming.
All killer, no filler.
Also fuck all y'all

Good opportunity to test the "Like" function.
Initially misread the above as:
I'd do it super cheap since I wouldn't have to buy any pants.

My reaction upon hearing that is still pretty "WTF" — I absolutely can't imagine Datapop is in any way more challenging, more difficult, or more frustrating to contend with than any other live event that the Highball (or any other venue) might host. Maybe staff just hates dealing with SXSW mobs in general, having less to do with Datapop specifically? Anyway, I guess haters gonna hate, sorry to hear Datapop was such an inexplicably horrible thorn in their side.
My roommate & I have been traveling a lot over the last 2 months (independently of one another) as part of our respective Busy Lifestyles™, but on a rare evening last month when we were both home I asked him about this in passing and he said flatly that the Datapop event series is not cancelled. Don't know more than that, but it sounded pretty definitive to me, and since he is very good friends with Tim (of the Alamo Drafthouse / Highball), personally I am taking it as such. Sounds like hope is not lost.

whoa! i didnt know that, when?
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1993-1995. It wasn't a terribly good show, but it was a blast to do. I still miss doing radio, wish I had a chance to take another crack at it.
Hey nice! I used to have a show on WMFO.
I will kill you all.
Anyway back to the videos, thanks for aggregating — this guy's got a bunch too (I think this link should be a Blip Tokyo 2011 playlist): http://www.youtube.com/monkeyturn#p/c/F202C6F282DD7EFA
edit: didn't realize you already included some of these, never mind, I think... difficult.
