BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
So I was cranky last night and decided to be a dick to this guy on the Nintendo Age forums.
I'm not proud of it, I wasn't in my right mind. I shouldn't have done it. I'm not gonna go into detail, but I left the post up and you can go see it if you want to.
I remembered it this morning while sitting in the breakroom at work waiting for the shift to start (currently working in a Yoplait plant to make end's meat hear, guys), felt bad, and decided to go back and delete the post if nobody had replied to it, and then send a short apology to Americasteam7.
Welp, the Nintendo Age forums suck on mobile and there was no way I could do that, so it was going to sit there until I got off work. At that point I checked and he'd replied.

I am not going to get a loss on this system lot.. No Sir!!!! Jerks like you don't deserve to have access to the internet. All you are is a hater who didn't particularly like the price of a certain item so you went to all of this trouble just to try to ruin his sale! Well Good freaking job dude!! Good freaking job!! You are a jerk just like the rest of the jerks on chiptune! I hope nobody here ever visits a site like that. You had evil intentions as well as the other people on chiptune did. Nintedoage has a couple of haters but all around this is an awesome community of gamers.

Yeah, ok, but the sale was already ruined when people tried to be nice both here and on NA, and he was a prick back to 'em all.

ANYWAY, aside from a short generic "hey. keep it civil, folks." post from a mod, the thread seemed to be continuing the same and as of right now the last post is yet another person calling him out on his crap. I was still going to give a short apology, but then this happened on tumblr.

I'm laughing so hard right now. Cry some more, bro.
And do you really wanna play that game, David?

I love the idea of cm.o being some kind of criminal underbelly of Nintendo age. I feel hacker.

Made with 60% quality comedy gold.

^Let me get back to you on that this weekend.

And as I mentioned before, the paint is $4 at walmart. I've used it before. I was gonna buy more the other day but decided against it in favor of some new glow-in-the-dark paint.

While we're on the topic, I have a follow-up question, since I've got a couple of decal-related project ideas I've been kicking around for a while.
How does one make sure that decals and stickers and the like stay on for good? Should some kind of clear coat be used or what?

No, when I say identical, I mean it. NES buttons, red (or orange) backlight, clear shell painted gold from the inside, prosound. $85 shipped.
I just figured since the backlight went without saying since I said identical. I'm even gonna include a copy of Tetris and the manuals.
I wasn't offering to sell to you anyway. I was poking fun and pointing out that even $110 is a bit much for something like this.
And btw, general forum etiquette is to make an account and hang around the other boards for a bit before going straight into trying to sell your stuff to everyone. Lurk a bit and maybe figure out if what you have is worth what you want to charge for it.

I tell ya' what, bud.
How about I go pick up the $4 can of gold spraypaint at Walmart and throw together an identical DMG (well, with an ASM shell instead of Nintendo, but w/e), and I'll even throw in an internal prosound or PCB-mount prosound, and I'll sell it to you for $85 shipped.

And I'm pretty sure that's an orange backlight. Doesn't look red to me, anyway.

If I add the word rare, it means I can charge more, right?

That Kirby DMG shell is done now.

Also gonna put my two cents in here, I've always had great experiences with ASM, save for one time I received the wrong backlight colors (which I believe they explained was the fault of the manufacturers, who labeled them wrong before shipping them to ASM), and a cracked DMG shell. They let me keep the backlights and the broken shell and sent me new ones, free of charge (very quickly, might I add).
Otherwise, everything's always gone swimmingly with them.

On the topic of phasing out DIY products, I will also be sad to see it all go.
Sure, Nonfinite's pretty good, but doesn't have as much of a selection as ASM, the quality of some products is a bit lacking, and shipping takes forever, at least for me.
There's also Kitsch (I actually rarely order from Nonfinite any more, all of my orders are through Kitsch and ASM these days), who's AMAZING, but lacks the awesome variety in colors for screen covers, and 4xLED backlights. Otherwise, I'd probably stick with Kitsch for everything.
(I'd also love to see some more PCB-mount prosounds, but it seems as though those are gone for good. sad )

IIRC ASM mentioned in their forums or on their blog that they'd keep some products around for wholesale.
I'd definitely be interested in more info regarding that when it comes along.

Yes, I was also under the impression that making a second account was a big no-no.
Though I suppose as long as it's alright with Kitsch I'll go ahead and make a new one later tonight or sometime tomorrow afternoon.

While we're at it, can someone tell me who I need to talk to about getting a username change?

Not at the moment, but I'll have them within a couple days. I can PM you once I get 'em if you'd like.

No paint, just some of Kitsch's new pastel-colored dpads.

I've been thinking about hiring artists to paint some of my DMG shells for me, since I'm not too much of an artist myself and I'm getting tired of the simplistic stenciling I've been doing over the past few months.
So I contacted a girl I've know through another message board for a few years. She's an awesome artist, and is currently going to college to expand her abilities. Anyway, I sent her three DMG shells in the mail the other day and this is what she's done so far. I'm quite pleased.
I'll be selling these as a full product (backlit/prosound/optional variable clock/biverted/etc) in a couple weeks, and she'll be doing another batch for me very soon.

wh

Bump, DS and 3DS games for sale. Whatever isn't sold within the next couple of days is either getting thrown onto ebay or taken to trade at a local game store.
