Victory Road wrote:OH yeah the thing about the notch filter at a very specific frequency: is that ringing just not there with a prosound or is it still there and everyone just EQs it out anyway? When I listen to recordings that were taken from prosound gameboys I can't notice it, but it's there in all of my recordings just ever so slightly. It's like -40dB ish but when you pump up the volume it's really noticeable, especially during short bursts of silence which I like to use a lot.
Y'know re: the ringing this has probably been asked a million billion times already anyway so I'll just figure it out for myself, haw haw.
if you figure it out, post your findings! I use modded GBs for recording, obviously, but still can hear that 9.2whateverK ring a bit when Im heavy handed with the compressor. I wind up hacking it out with EQ, but some freq specifics would be nice. I haven't looked at it with spectrometer or anything.
midi mod is not essential at all. i mean, basically you just need a gameboy, cart, cables and either a cheap mixer or a DI box. BAM showtime
good sound man! now you just need to develop it. some lead lines and a bridge would probably help flesh it out a bit
thanks friends
Im glad you guys like it because i had a lot of fun putting it together. I would probably never record something in this style on my own, but it was really cool to have the opportunity to play the sort of sound palette.
writing loop music is a pretty fun puzzle too: my goal for these was to maintain enough development and tension for the loops to sound like "actual music", but not so much that retransitioning sounds awkward when potentially listening over and over.
ramble ramble. thanks for listening
Tangled OST

Smooth and meditative, this is the soundtrack to Billie Lavoie's classic iOS puzzle game "Tangled". With over 2 million downloads since its initial release, "Tangled" deserved a graphical overhaul and some meditative zen music to set the mood. This contemplative soundtrack by Br1ght Pr1mate composer James Primate and new art by designer Ryan Brock ensures its place in iOS gaming classics.

shotgun breakdown wrote:i remember the first attack attack! cd had the intro fading into the next song, but when you listen to the tracks individually the intro didnt have the fade in to the next song, it just ended as if the fade wasnt intentional. its probably not that hard to do but i wouldnt know lol

I totally feel the same way. it's a whole piracy ecosystem: sometimes you are the pirate, and sometime you are the booty.
aw yeah
