I will say though. Do not let the "gear" get you too distracted from the thing that's actually important.. the music.
Just get what you can afford, learn that inside and out and go from there.

This.

I have very modest setup and every time I get something new I try to get most out of it before I get something else.

i'm not sure of how the Mac stuff works, but I know that recently Marc changed the behaviour of the windows build so that config.xml MUST reside in the bin folder.  Perhaps this is your issue?

Damn, I just put it to the root..have to try this when I get home.

As I said, noob stuff:)

Plus, are there any good tutorials/good tracks to examine to get hold of the tables and other more complex stuff?

I think every track released by hexawe has the source available too. smile

Yeah, but that's shitload of tracks to skim:) Good tutorials/articles would be more than welcome even more!

Ok, expect me to flood this thread with n00b-questions from next week: Videovalvontaa will make Piggy-based album to RPM Challenge! I havent used tracker since 2000 or something, haha. I got the basics covered from the tutorial videos (which were awesome btw). There's one problem, I cant get my config.xml working. I need to change LT and RT buttons since my macbook doesnt have two CTRL-buttons. I did everything as said on Piggys manual but still I cant get it to work. Anybody kind enough to send me their config.xml for me to look at?

Plus, are there any good tutorials/good tracks to examine to get hold of the tables and other more complex stuff?

Still? What was that, like, 3 months ago?:D

Would love to have this but I dont have the money at the moment. tongue

If one cover makes millions of shitty (and some good too) bands pose front of brickwall, it must be pretty special

HAhahaha, wow.

I'll have a shot at this.

edit:
If it's ok to use some casios and samples.

I like artifacts caused by stretching on _some_ instruments:) And I like dirty but big sound on the whole mix (I really like how legendary rock producer Steve Albini produces records, of course my quality is faaar away from that) so some times I saturate/distort separate tracks that sound too "clean" little bit afterwards.

Ok, I actually like this, very different that you could expect from that cover.  Next time get someone to do the cover for you!

Next thing is, get stupid flying letters out of your myspace profile:)
