PS: Are gold zelda carts really that rare?

from wiki - "The Legend of Zelda was a bestseller for Nintendo, selling over 6.5 million copies..."

or, 1 for every 47 people in the US.

i still don't really understand the security guard drama. i heard some people complaining about security but never really heard what it was they were complaining about.

anyways, i talked to few of them at different points and they seemed like pretty good dudes. i think everyone thought they were trying to grab the crowd surfers and kick them out of the venue but i think they're trained to help people not fall on their heads/necks if they get pushed over the dividers. maybe i'm wrong about that.

but yeah, it was an incredible weekend. huge props to everyone who planned it! can't wait for next year.

there wasn't any kind of scene for chip music in rochester that i was aware of before we started booking rochester chip shows almost two years ago. a few people were into it but i don't think there were any bands or shows (i could be wrong). there was, however, a very active indie rock / hardcore / punk scene and a bunch of good noise / experimental / electronic bands.

we started setting up shows and because of our connections in both of those existing scenes and setting up multiple shows for anamanaguchi (which helped bring a ton of college kids to our shows), they started to become more and more successful. more and more people came and more and more people started making their own chip music, which has been incredible to see.

the most recent monthly show we did (last week) had about a dozen local performers all making different kinds of chip music : gameboy + jazz saxophone, gameboy power metal, experimental noise with effects pedals, and of course, upbeat gameboy pop music.

so yeah, the scene here is definitely a lot smaller than scenes in cities like nyc or philly, obviously, but i really like it and hope to continue to keep doing shows here for a long time.

not a criticism of your tracks but i'll usually space out my uploads by at least a few days. you tend to get more of a reaction and more comments that way. just a thought!

are you using iOS 5?

yeah, his controller was just the buttons of the gameboy though, right? i'm thinking of something more like the lsdj keyboard where there are single buttons for MUTE PULSE CH. 1 and CHANGE INSTRUMENT. not just UP, DOWN, etc.

pixls nailed it right on the head. When I'm playing guitar with it live it's obviously a pre-written track, but when I'm just using the software I'm editing as many parameters that I can think of...

what if there was a guitar pedal style controller for the gameboy, with specific buttons to mute/solo certain channels, and other buttons to control some of the other parameters maybe? THAT WOULD BE COOL.

just tried emailing the address i paypal-ed and got it automatically returned to me. ugh.
