REVENGINEERS - SELF TITLED EP

listen / buy now.

I'm seriously so proud of this. It would mean so much if you'd give it a quick listen and let me know what you think. THANKS!

IMO don't release it quick! Use a little bit of time to hype it up a bit. Or IF you must release it within a day, build interest by announcing that you'll release it at "____ o'clock tonight" and post about it a bit via social networking for a little. Definitely couldn't hurt versus just doing, "btw, we released our album just now!" #psychology

But because I just saw you post this, I AM HYPED! smile

I feel like that technique probably works better when people know who your band is already. Hard to build hype for a first release. But I think you make a great point. If this past two months wasn't so insane for us, it would have been rad to do some more promotional stuff for it.

Right now I'm panicking that I've forgotten to list someone in the liner notes!    \(>o<)/

the revengineers album is the most anticipated release in all of chipmusic history.

therefore it needs no promotion, for the masses will know when its time, and when the time comes, music will never be the same again.

Can you write all our press releases?

We had a release party and a show where we played most of the new album. The local paper and free rags both announced it and the paper reviewed it.
We also dropped it online in a few places like here, the DS10 forum and Reddit. Simple, but effective.

i hadn't thought about reddit. also, sending copies to local papers is a good call too!

Any tips/tricks/anecdotes/advice regarding promoting your new cd?

I did get it working whereby the 'clock' was determined by hitting a button on pad 2 so I know that that method would effectively work. It has limited use though, admittedly.

it would be pretty easy to build an arduino device that took a midi clock signal and translated that to button presses, so whenever the arduino received a clock pulse, it would "hit a button on pad 2".
