four 1/8th inch inputs, two 1/4 inch outputs (one for Left and the other for Right). pretty basic but so useful.
i can't help thinking it'd be way easier to have the outputs on the actual NES itself.. just seems kind of annoying to lug an R2D2 around with you.
my nes has three 1/4 inch outputs on it, i'm not sure what you mean. everyone plugs their stuff into a mixer, i just happened to build mine.
holy shit is R2D2 a mixer?
that is the coolest fucking thing ever.
haha, thanks! a lot of people build the volume knobs into the NES itself but i thought that if i built it externally instead then i could use it for lots of other stuff too.
here's some pictures of it on my band's tumblr - http://revengineers.tumblr.com/post/112 our-volume
if you're talking about kit swapping, does that mean instrument swapping is possible too?
i'm very excited to finally try this out.
wow, this sounds really great. can i get you guys to come do this in rochester?
stoked you guys are being so supportive!
I wouldve gone with ROCKCHIPSTAR PRODUCTIONS.
And some appropriate NO LIMIT font.
hahaha. i thought of ROCHIPSTER but then i instantly realized people would think it was ROC space HIPSTER.
Whoa, "Rochester Chip" now? Shit's OFFICIAL.
Wish I could make this. Pumped to play up there with you broz in December.
i'm so pumped on that december show. it'll probably be the cd release show for my first gameboy album.
re: 'rochester chip', we all just figured we're going to be doing all this stuff anyways (booking shows, playing shows, making jams, making art, making records) so giving it a name would just help unify things a bit and be really encouraging. i know rochester can't be like nyc or philly but i hope it can become a cool mini-scene where my favorite bands and artists can come play on tour, etc.
I would go but I have a CS final at 2:45 the next day. I'll see if my roommate with a car will be willing to come with me to the show before I decide that I already know CS and that chipmusic stimulates my brain anyway.
Weird coincidence, I played Bukarest by HotChaCha on WITR (RIT's radio station) today. I wish I could play a Revengineers song on WITR but they either don't have any or don't want them. And station policy prohibits me from bringing in outside music.
Anyway if I'm there I'll be the fat kid with the Animal Style t-shirt vigorously fist-pumping.
haha, if you come then you should definitely introduce yourself. i wish revengineers had proper recordings that i could give you. the closest thing we have is this ( http://revengineers.tumblr.com/post/506 -miles-per ) but it's more like a spruced up demo. also, we don't play that song or use that gear anymore. if you think that mp3 would still work, i can definitely send it though!
you should just play some anamanaguchi / starscream / george and jonathan jams instead! :-)
helped me out a lot.
edit - woops, i didn't see that someone already posted this.
i used two gameboys synced together on all the videos this girl uploaded -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4tRLYxFxb0
though you can't hear the programming very well.
also, in most of these videos you can hear the guy next to the camera singing more loudly than me.

this has to be some kind of a typo
i have an rca gameboy and a 1/8th inch gameboy and the rca cables have pulled out so many more times than the 1/8th inch cable. just speaking from my personal experience.
i feel like the 8th inch cable is more secure and harder to pull out than the RCA, which makes it better for live shows.
