great! thanks for the tip! :]

Yeah, OPL3 is backwards compatible.
I'm asking because I'm looking for the YM3014 DAC chip... they are kinda hard to find nowadays, arcadecomponents.com used to have them, but not anymore sad.

any OPL2 stuff perchance?

FamiTracker now has support for export plugins, thanks to Gradualore (from nesdev boards).
He has provided an example exporter and sound driver to demonstrate the functionality, it can be found here: exporterplugin.zip
It also contains all info needed to create own plugins.

What kind of soundcard does it have, then?
I'd put some (fast/impulse/scream/adlib) tracker in there if possible :]

I feel like an idiot, because I remember actually seeing this tutorial smile
Anyways, you're welcome smile

thanks, I made it myself with double-sided ducttape and a knife smile

Never tried that, but that box only contains a rectifier, A/V amplifier and RF unit, so it should be fine to desolder and put somewhere else. Just to be sure, use shielded wires for audio and video signals and regular ones for the power supply.
However, the casing also acts as cooling for the 7805 voltage regulator and can run really hot.
The "connecting points" connect the box to the silver framing (this is the system's ground) to enable shielding of the whole system (because the whole shield assembly also makes contact on this framing).

But as I said, I've never actually desoldered the box so it'd be nice if someone else can confirm what I just said...
The people at http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs/index.php should be able to answer your question very precisely, they are the experts smile

Well, the most important part is my "NES Quadcore" smile
Two systems are PAL and two are NTSC. The one with Samus sticker is my modified PAL one (stereo outputs, ...), I use it for midiNES. I'm going to modify one of the NTSC ones, turning it into my primary machine.
The other two are in very good shape, so I'd hate to mess with them smile

Obligatory GBC, but I don't use it much

My trusty ESI UGM96 soundcard

My computers. The older one contains a soundcard with Yamaha OPL3-SAx chipset!

also, electric & acoustic guitar...

I've bought this one for midines. Works fine for a few minutes, then stops playing lower notes on square channels (it always jams when I start the song, never in the middle). Only action to unjam it is to power off and on my NES.
Also, there are occasional glitches and lags.
sad

So with a bit of luck, you might work with it for a while, but for my final recording I always plug my midines into Axiom 61's MIDI OUT, that way it works flawlessly.
