3.  Any way I can change either the color palette or font?  shits hard to read, yo

It actually resets the palette on start, so even if you reprogram the palette system-wide before running RAD, you're short of luck.

So to answer the question, no easy way that I know of. Perhaps programming a palette changer as a TSR might work. How important is this palette business to you? :]

RAD is OPL2-only (IIRC a patch exists enabling OPL3 waveforms, but not the four-op modes and 18 channels). Thus algorithm means the same thing as CNT in the following diagram (taken directly from the OPL3 datasheet):

Basically, turning algorithm ON means "use AM" (op1 summed with op2), turning algorithm OFF means "use FM" (modulate op2 with op1). It's misleading really, one would assume ON means FM ON.

uses a lot of chip sounds. It's pretty catchy actually.

I'm not really familiar with logoNES or the other tools, only with PPU palettes in general.

But the nametables dont always seem to use the palettes I expect after I complile the rom.

Are they completely off, or do they differ in some of the colors only?
The thing is, three of those 16 colors (bytes 4, 8, 12) are not really used, instead, the PPU uses the first byte's value. Might be related. (...)

As far as I can work out, each 16x16 square of tiles has some way to specify which of the 4 palettes it should use?

Yep, the so-called attribute tables define this relation.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Hey, if noone else can help, I could look into this. :]

If you'd like to come to Prague, Czech republic, nula and I could show you around, and we can offer our couches :].
We could do a show together, though people don't really listen to chipmusic around here that much just yet.
Well, but we do know about a nice little venue that would let us play no problem. Other than that, we're your ordinary broke-ass chipmusicians.

So, I've finished and uploaded videos for each individual track!

Also, you can like me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/kvee/281954571920620

(those were actually recorded at the same time as the audio tracks used for the final mix!)

Enjoy! :]

6 channels

Just tried in on my machine, it looks like this screenshot

I'd guess it works with sid2sid and other two-SID circuits.
(edit: and yeah, it gives you 6 channels to work with)

Did anyone watch the stream? :]
We had a lot of fun, I drank many G&Ts and sold all 7 CDs I brought.

Anyways, here's a better video from my camcoder

and here's the EP release thread: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/9312/kvee-nep/

Enjoy!

Is midines allowed? It's not 60Hz-aligned and you can't really use it to make a .nsf. But it's still 2A03.

I’ll post a link when the show starts and we have the webstream set up and ready to go.

okay then, sorry to hear about the shipping

Man, I couldn't get it working
It's probably just the A/V cable for the C64 as I have a really crappy one and can't for the life of me find the good one my friend lent me.
Well, sorry about that, i will keep trying to find the cable :]] Maybe I gave it back to my friend...

As a last-ditch effort, would some pics from the NES be of use to you?

EDIT: I just saw the shipping, no good for me as i'm in Germany. Shipping is not quite as "worldwide" as they say!

Well, that sucks. I usually run into problems with people in the US not willing to ship to Czech republic.
But sometimes, all it takes is just to ask nicely :]

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow, just in case you find a way to ship the displays to you.
