Cool ideas. Honestly I'm sure it would be really easy to get a compolation going after around 12 competitions. I wouldn't mind having one considering I've been here since the start as well as Arlen (obv) and a couple others.

We're on the voting stage right now. You'll have to wait for the next one. You can still vote however!

Yeah. I've done that with one of my songs and it's a pain, but worth it if one doesn't have a second cart. I'll be sitting on it for a bit to get some new ideas in the meantime as well as wait patiently for my next cart.

I wonder if one can put an image in the theme section of the competition. If not I'm sure just putting one in this thread would work fine.

Just a fantastic theme this week Arlen. The more descriptive the better. More like these please :-D I'll do my part trying to think up some ideas. Perhaps we could involve some of the pixel artists? Have them create a picture from a make believe game and we come up with a tube for it?

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm looking forward to getting a second cart and linking the two so I can have more channels at my disposal. I love harmonizing cord notes in both pulse channels so it's tough for me to trade one for more bass haha. Thanks for the feedback it's definitely appreciated.

I wrote a new song.
I think it is pretty rad.
But please pick at it

Has it direction?
Do the transitions flow well?
Should I add more bass?

Hell yes downloading.
Fanfuckingtastic artwork, holy shit.
EDIT: Listened to it. Rad sounds and great beats. I definitely enjoy it...."What the Cat Dragged In" on a loop for the rest of my life.

You can't say "fuck everyone else, it's my site" if you're the one who wants visitors. Adblock add-ons aren't an excuse to throw ads everywhere. Your design should be made as it's intended to be viewed.

- Even your content is well written and interesting, giant blocks of text scare people. I had to force myself to keep reading not because of what you were saying but how much of a daunting task it looked the entire time.
- You can't expect people to install a plugin (or really even spending a single calorie to block adds if the browser isn't already). People aren't going to jump through hoops for the sole reason of viewing your site. This being said, stop trying to suggest what other can do to view your site better and start thinking about what you can do for your potential viewers.
- The amount and subject of your ads rivals that of a scam site. If anyone enters a site and immediately thinks:
"Oh shit what kind of infection am I going to get just visiting this site"
you know there's a problem. I half expect some popup to appear from the bottom of the screen containing some 40+ "MILF" IM'ing me
saying she's in my area...
- People are suggesting simple tips for you while you respond with a clusterfuck of code referencing. I think you need to think more about
what you started the thread with rather than how to code the site at this point.
- I'm pretty sure most of the flames here aren't exactly flames. If someone says your text is ugly...there's no reason to get pissed. How specific are people supposed to be about something that doesn't have much detail to begin with?

I've been working on something for the Controllerthrow competition. I hope you guys think it fits the theme for this week. I'll throw it up there later regardless just to get more entries. Plus...it's pretty slick.
Also
Once this competition gets larger with more consistent participation (I have faith it will eventually) maybe we should start thinking about voting criteria. I know it's not really important now, nor will it be for a while, but what are your thoughts on this? I have a feeling that eventually people will start getting votes just because it's the song someone likes the best even if it has nothing to do with the theme, which I would love to avoid. I don't mean setting the page up differently to require specific votes for each category (I don't think you can do that anyway). I mean possibly adding more to the description of the event with info for people to keep in mind while voting such as:
- Follows the theme 1-5
- Uniqueness 1-5
- Production 1-5
blah blah blah
There's no way to MAKE people follow some system like this but it may promote a more focused voting process. Once again...I don't think it is at all necessary now. What do you guys think?

You could also donate cash to get LSDJ and then run it on an emulator first to see if you'd want to shell out for a gameboy cart. If you do go that route I don't suggest continuing to use an emulator...they just don't sound right.
As for being a beginner the type of gameboy really doesn't matter. Just don't go crazy modding it yet since, most likely, the stuff you create right at the get go won't need intense recording. Stick with a DMG, a cart and your fingers.
,
I prefer the 64mb usb carts. It's easier (and cheap in comparison) to back up your savs to your comp as well as flash new saves and kits.
Don't hesitate to PM me for LSDJ help. I've helped a couple newbies around here with definite positive feedback and I really enjoy doing it.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. I have followed little-scale with little results. I'll give those tips another go before I shoot you an email. I've got some time later today...let's hope some magic happens.
