From what I've downloaded and seen from demoscene, it appears to be (incredibly talented) individuals working on very pretty images and animations.
But, as the name suggests, they are demos. There is no story arc or characters to love/hate so to me at least, lacks a certain warmth

Woah... just thought of something... what if you made a music video on the gameboy to accompany one or more of the songs... Sounds like a lot of sleepless nights doing a lot of programming... I can't wait to see the finished result. Keep at it man!

For a moment I had a fakebit setup using virtual audio cable to put piggy and bgboy through daw effects in energyxt, but the atom netbook wasn't up to snuff. Now you can probably use jack for windows and it should probably work better.

a teensy bit. It really just changes the pitch of the whine, but not the volume of the noise or anything. As for the chip sounds, i think it sounds a little rawer and more pronounced on the midrange instruments. Splits the difference of a cgb and a dmg.

Yeah, but I don't even have a laptop I could use live, haha.
You can get a alesis compressor far cheaper than most of the modded dmgs you see on this forum.
