Just heard back from my wholesaler, word is (and this verbatim), any day now. I'm hoping to have them available for purchase this weekend.
Awesome.
Will they be priced the same as the previous screens?

Awesome, thanks.
I'll give it another shot.
I played around with it a little bit this morning, got some basic bleeps and bloops out of it. Is there a homepage or any documentation for this yet? I'm assuming since it's in alpha there's probably not much in the way of LSDJ-style commands or other ways to manipulate the instruments yet.
I'll keep an eye on it for now, it could have potential.
I would be very happy if the amount of image macros used here won't mirror that of another place.
I completely agree. It serves absolutely no purpose, almost ever, and should stay at places like 4chan and other forums with similar maturity levels. The one thing I've been looking forward to with the new communities popping is hoping that one of them will maintain a consistent level of adult discussion without degrading itself into tired, drooling internet "memes" (or fads, as they should be called).
I just tell people that I make electronic dance music with a Game Boy. It's simple and to the point (most of the time). While I am obviously not down on mentioning the hardware as others here are, I don't ever refer to it as "chip tune" or "chip music," because that really doesn't describe it correctly, I feel.
I have a GBA flash somewhere (for Mother 3), I might tinker around with this tonight.
Awesome. As soon as it's posted I'll fire up the soldering iron.
"Coming Soon"
kitsch posted last week on Chip Coalition that he was expecting a turnaround time with the manufacturing of about two weeks.
I didn't see this mentioned here but the Game Boy hobby shops (kitsch, nonfinite and I'm sure others) are going to be stocking new screens lenses very soon that match the coloring of the Play It Loud! Game Boys. This is pretty awesome as the general opinion appears to be that the dark gray screens look better, even on the stock gray Game Boys. These are definitely going to make all the great custom paint jobs we're seeing look a lot sexier as well.
Maybe this will help?
You can get both Nintendo security bits for a couple bucks on eBay, that includes shipping.
Still, it's a neat trick if you need to get into something ASAP.

the wife says that too... ;_;
I've tried to explain to her that techno is its own genre, but I think she has a point.. unfortunately I think that's STILL what most people unfamiliar with electronic music associate with it. Back in the mid/late 90's I could blame MTV Amp on that, but I'm just not sure what's kept it that way for so long at this point.
I actually needed this just now, so this will be great to read over.
You are on a roll with these tutorials, keep them up.
I just have a tab with the "Recent Posts" search open at all times.
