I've known about it for a while.  Don't really give shit.

Mostly this.  If he posts free downloads of material from my label that the artist has put a price on I'll contact him and work things out privately.

Bump for the nightstalkers.

Sean Monistat is +Let's Disinfect!+ He's also an active musician since 1999 with interests from drum and bass to the trashy horrorpunk found here. Creepy, understated vocals blend with a variety of live and chip instruments to turn your brain into a skeevy, smoky punk club full of dudes that want to punch Glenn Danzig in the face. But in a good way.

Whats the equivalent of a 5-string bass in chipmusic?

edit: because, like.. I've kinda always thought they represented douche-bag early 2000s eyebrow ring rock.

I'm not surprised by that attitude at all.
There's three major portrayals of chipmusic on the internet:

1.  The YouTube version:  snip
2.  The Facebook version:  snipsnip
3.  An artist's website or label:  [cover art] [title] [tracklist]

Two of those are immediate and possibly permanent turn-offs.  The other is fine but doesn't do anything to explain or promote the scene... which is also fine.

I do number three, and I wonder; is a simple "visit cm.org" call with that album what is needed to make it better?

I don't know... We don't typically take kindly to strangers round these parts.  I also don't know a better place to learn.

Oh, not the Covox I was thinking of. nvm

I've uninstalled Spotify so I can't do a direct comparison right now but that's pretty lame.  I'm assuming another case of "it's just video game music" and the video makers added the lame stuff on top of the soundtrack.  Booooo.

"This is a major update, notably adding the option to run reViSiT as a standalone program, enabled by the development of a dedicated VST host, designed specifically for hosting the reViSiT plugin, based on a single-windowed environment. To accommodate this new mode, a brand new installer has been developed, which should also be able to better detect your VST plugin directory - let me know if it guesses correctly. Over time, the host will gain extra capabilities (e.g. support for other VST plugins, MIDI In). My tests, so far, indicate that performance is better than plugin-mode (tested on both an i3-2300T Win7 desktop and first-gen XP netbook), likely due to the simplicity of the dedicated host, but do report back on your own experiences / setups. (* recently updated to 1.7.3)"

I've been getting the update announcements about this for years, may be time to check it out.  tongue

Looking forward to this!
