A new paging system is being set up at the plant I work at and "A Horse With No Name" has been blaring on repeat for over 2 HOURS STRAIGHT!!!!111!11!1

...just wanted to share that with you. >:(

This is just what the doctor ordered!  I'll have this on repeat for a while. smile

So it sounds like PSP isn't quite up to the task yet... recommendations for PC (I know Niel has been using Nestopia but that's Mac only afaik)?

Wario Land 2 and Golf get played a lot on mine.

Is the headphone out one of those that can also accept a headset with mic?  If so you may be getting the contacts bridged and signal going back to the phone and causing problems, especially if your mixer is set up to take TRS type plugs.

edit:  what prof said...

Can't really argue with either of those lists and I'm glad to see Wizwars on there.  I keep hearing about the Cheap Dinosaurs album... somebody needs to buy up all they've got at the next show and sell me one!

Not as exiting as this one!!!!!

*squeeeeeaaaaaaalllllll*  Even tho I'll be running this on psp it's still friggin awesome!

In case anyone's curious:  I got my Banzai amp in today and after a few albums listening time I can give it an unconditional thumbs up.  It drives my 300ohm AKGs to above comfortable listening levels and sounds fantastic all the way.  Battery life may turn out to be an issue but I'm planning on getting some rechargeables anyway.  Yay!

my guess is that that USB headphone amp will probably not drive much for very long. given the fact that it's a single rail 5 volt supply.

the CMOY is a +/- 9V supply which will/should give you more headroom, and more driving power.

Ii'm going to order one of the built units only to save on time. The circuit in realty would only cost you about $8 to make but you get a printed circuit board which saves time.
But $20 w/ chassis is stupid cheap. no clue who they're making money on it. but oh well.. When i get one i'll give it a listen to see how i like it.. and report back to this thread.

I've got one on it's way as well.  I finally found some real discussion about it (including some responses from the builder):

Very positive stuff.

Very appealing site!  Cancer Research will be getting a share of my tax return ASAP.  I applaud the both of you!

thanks egr! btw, are you using some tracker on it? so far, I tested cybertracker, jch and johnplayer. Only johnplayer is ok, savind and loading (cybertracker and jch freezes when trying to read/write files).

gonna grab that d64 version of cynthcart you put in your other thread. smile

I'm not sure I've tried JCH, but I know Johnplayer works and Cybertracker does not (freezes as you describe).
The "D64 Editor" I put in that same zip is your best friend, it'll convert anything into a loadable file for you.

damn it, it was the usb/rs232 converter I was using! Connected it directly on a rs232 input and it worked!

damn 3-dollars dealextreme converter! tongue

Hey, sorry I didn't see this thread earlier although I probably couldn't have figured your problem out anyway.  Glad you got it working, I'm very pleased with mine. smile

What are the options for using this on hardware once it comes out?  I know of:

PowerPak  (expensive and probably impossible to get once NTRQ is released)
PowerPak Lite  (expensive unless you already have CopyNES)
Homemade cart with eprom (epprom?  probably the best bet but not easily updateable and also likely to be in short supply)

Anything else for hardware?

Here's a link to the manual in case you don't have it:

I was going to suggest that you had a blown fuse but it looks like this amp only uses one (a bi-amped setup would have one for each channel, right?).
