I'm giving out a few free download codes. Comment below if you'd like one (and everyone above, I'm PMing you all now).
"Kicks" is a sweet tune with an awesome melody. Do you think you'll write an album with this new sort of style?
Thanks! I'd be more likely to keep releasing 2 songs at a time, as I don't really have the patience to write an album. I could always compile the songs into a collection 'album' of sorts later on though.
At least releasing this way, I can guarantee there will be no filler.
Thanks a lot guys! I'm glad you're enjoying it.
I was having some trouble streaming on Bandcamp, so I've put both tracks on YouTube, and added both videos to the first post.

Hello everyone. Out of nowhere, here is a new release! I hope you enjoy it. I made it with Chipsounds and Renoise.
1. Chiptune is NOT a genre, it's a medium for creating music in a range of styles. Stop calling it a genre.
2. What kind of university course is this? Composition? Production? What exactly do you need feedback on?
I've had a listen to your style, and it is repetitive to the point of actually becoming quite irritating. You've got some good ideas, but you need to squeeze in many more of them per song. You don't really seem to give a lot of consideration to writing a good, memorable melodic line. I listened to all of the songs on your soundcloud and I can't recall or hum a single melody from them. The most promising in that respect is In Her Arms, although that suffers from the same problem of being quite repetitive and having a really played out octave bassline. It sounds like you really need to work harder, and to expose yourself to more progressive chiptune styles in order to get inspired. If you're a composition major, think of how these songs would sound played with any other instruments (in my opinion, not very interesting). Right now, it just sounds gimmicky.
This might not be what you wanted to hear, but I think it will help.
Look, I'm critiquing a critique blog.
I appreciate what you're trying to do, but every post just reads like a total braindump rather than something that anyone other than the reviewer and writer of the music would enjoy reading. The changing font sizes and the poor, often uneven formatting makes for a difficult read.
At the moment, no consideration is given to the casual reader, and I think you should try to take that into consideration.
Why not just add the donation button on Bandcamp so people can either download it for free, or offer you a donation (with an amount of their choosing) from the one website?
I've had people pay up to £7.50 for free EPs.
I like to make vague judgements and to sound like I'm coming from a position of authority and knowledge by talking in a matter-of-fact like tone.
No-one cares.
The Weakerthans
Attack In Black
and a whole ton of proper pop-punk bands like: The Steinways, House Boat, The Ergs, etc.

To explain:
I do take these 'nothing happens in London' comments quite personally, since I love deeply 8bit, and my city and so have hosted a number of gigs with great musicians here myself. Other people organise things too, and theres been several shows every year for 11 years at least. I don't know where people get the idea that nothing happens in London - it is surely one of the most active European cities....and now we have another *great* event coming up! Its sure to be a very busy and loud party \o/
REALLY?
Cos i've been completely missing whatever you've been organising.
How/ Where do you advertise these events?
I've actually just signed up to here to ask you this.
-EDIT: ok, so i'm looking at this forum, and theres crap loads of stuff i missed. WHY WHY WHY was this stuff not shoved in my face on facebook? D: BLAH. Please advertise MOAR AND HARDER. I would have been shaking my ass at so many events if i'd known... /edit
How about this. Why don't you check the Events section of this forum every week, and for any events in London (or nearby) that don't have Facebook event listings, why don't you create them? You'd be doing everyone involved a favour, and you'd always know when there will be future events!
If you write music on it, is it chiptune?
I like that there aren't many (only one I think) Scottish artists on this, as it means you've got completely different Ultrachip and Superbyte lineups, making both pretty essential in terms of UK chip events.
i call the seinfeld theme song.
5. Do not cover or remixing original songs (soundtrack)
I think the OP wants new songs in the style of tv shows. I think it'd be better with tv theme covers though.
Also...
lowgain is going to be so pissed.
Come on! He'll be stoked to be associated with something so cool.
Ohhhh, right! That makes sense. I thought all 5 of those designs were the finalists. My mistake.
I hope the last design of yours wins, it's really something special.
