easy skezzy breezy

I ended up getting that insert y-cable anyway. Is the one you posted just now stereo to stereo?

edit: nvm I'm guessing all TRS is stereo?

Either way, would you recommend the cable you listed above or the insert y cable?

Ok, just to clarify:

Those Hosa's - I'd be plugging in the 1/8 male into the GB then BOTH of the 1/4s go into my PA (if I'm using a PA at the time)?

Also, this is what's meant by shielded cables: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shielded_cable

i doubt you are going to find any shielded insert cables.  just get the hosa i linked to

you need BOTH 1/4 cables plugged in to get stereo.  otherwise its just going to be right or left channel.

Is it possible to find a cable that's inherently 1/8 stereo to 1/4 stereo (1 jack)?

35 dollars for a 10 foot 1/8 to 1/4 cable.  mogami cable and nice connectors but still.. damn

What specs did you pick for your cables?

Whoa!!!!!! There. There. There. It might just be my first proper chiptune show if I don't make it out to Vista Playa.

Parts. He's saying you should learn to build your own cables. I concur. Best and cheapest way to always have reliable cables.

Ah, ok.

Well, I'm assuming there's some soldering/stripping involved. I have no problem with learning how to solder! Any good faqs/tutorials?

It'll help me in the long run (I eventually want to make an LSDJ ps/2 keyboard).

when the cable figuratively shits the bed, you will have more in reserve

The middle pic is a dead link btw.

I might go to this if I'm not working!

Recently, I've been using my 1/8 stereo to 1/4 stereo jack adapter to use with my instrument cable while plugged into my DMG. That's great n' all, but it comes loose if I move it slightly.

Anyone know where I can find a good (shielded) 1/8 stereo to 1/4 stereo cable?

The ones from Radio Shack are almost always 1/8 mono to 1/4 stereo.

Thanks!

wow. this is really awesome. you actually used it in a real song before i was able to! smile

i'm seriously really flattered. are there any other features you think i should add?

I'm glad! It's top-notch stuff.

Hmm, I know muddygb that half-step pitch bend feature. That would be kinda cool. Other than that, maybe some button combos could switch root keys on the fly? Maybe Start + Select simultaneously? It's seriously the most fun I've had with a live console synth.

I hope you don't mind, I'm actually thinking of incorporating it into my duo's live set!

*haha nvm, I guess you already had the button combo/preset idea on lock. That would be rad to use!

I actually tested it out and wrote a quick song (haha in like 10 minutes...it's kinda janky) with it. Good work, man! Keep it up!

Also, this is my first post on CM, and I'm already enjoying it.
