Judging by this post, Neil is already doing/has already done that. smile

Hehe, no, not Quarta330, I didn't mean instruments-wise. tongue

If you are just looking for growling noisy bassy wobble stuff to break your subwoofer with, then try:

If you're looking for something musical, then I have no idea. There was something on Hyperdub which sounded like little-scale, but I've forgotten what it was. smile

Ashbrg has made a lot of great albums, look here. smile

Definitely, it's not in your face about what you should be listening to or what other people are listening to, it's just clear that everything is there and you can listen to any of it.

SLiVeR's website
SLiVeR's album

Worth checking out Lawrence Power / lpower, also from Pterodactyl Squad. One album of NES, one of FM, both VGM-styled - great! smile

What would you call what I described? A host?

I think they call it a "street team" here in the UK. Lame name, I know.

I don't know how many people know about Penny and Ashtray, they (he?) certainly aren't talked about. Great music, and not going for nostalgia or blip-blop at all, it's just dance music made with chip sounds. Maybe you'll like it then, akira tongue ... or maybe not.

Edit: four more tracks here, less chippy, but still fairly relevant I would say. I prefer the other one though.

Anyone care to explain why we need one, rather than just saying that we do?

And yes, there's already a logo, it just doesn't have a picture on it.

You got the "that are cool" bit right, but is there really anyone here who doesn't know Yerzmyey?

I didn't mention mano (different guy to mano who's sometimes in #chipmusic)! Lovely sugary sweet tracks, but quality way over quantity (I could only find four). sad

Looking for mano, I saw Manwe's name in the list, and I think he deserves a mention too (although he's fairly well known), he did some great songs for a Sands musicdisk called Toy Songs 3. big_smile

edit: ignore me, I didn't read it properly.

I find it absolutely disgusting that people charge for copying you a software.
A network of users that can help others around with this sort of stuff should be EASY to make. I'm gonna try setting one up at EAB.
Nope, I don't need it, I got my Amiga with a multicard reader that takes SD, Memory Stick and others smile Thanks anyway.

Well, I assume the charge is to cover the price of floppy disks, they don't grow on trees! smile

Still, a network of people who can help each other out with stuff like that is a great idea, one of the best things about having a community.

They've really done up their site since last time I visted! Very pretty now. I recommend everything there by Wang-Zhi, that guy/girl is great.

Great thread Akira!

an-cat-max has bad taste, obviously.

Pretty much anyone who made chipmusic before 1998 or so is pretty unknown/under-appreciated, with a few exceptions, and people who don't release music as mp3 download albums on netlabels (not bitching, just saying smile)

Edzes, Lysander Lapine, Jammer, Linus, Iwamoo (couldn't find a good link sad), Rophon, Siril, Blz, Yaz are all fairly under-appreciated, I bet Akira's heard it all before though. tongue

Will add this thread to my favourites. big_smile

edit: links smile

big version of the favicon that might work as a nice logo

edit: just for smiletron's iPod, I don't think the site needs a logo really.

Yeah, it has, and it's worked out fine with no ops so far too. Great! smile
