yes ive got it, some radical shizz in there...... im more meaning i dont know my way around sid tracking (well enough) to worry about using actual hardware for playback tongue

Ah, tunes by yourself rather than by others, I see now! smile

It's not aimed at musicians, I'd say, so that explains the lack of VST support!

That was meant as no disrespect to the design you and Trash80 have done for the site (it looks really nice!), I just like tweaking things to have them the way I want. smile

If you have Firefox, the Stylish addon will kill it dead.

Here's the Stylish CSS for anyone who wants it, just make a new user style and copy it in:

@-moz-document domain('chipmusic.org'){div#chipmusictwit{visibility:hidden;}}

(edit: easier, better, shorter)

Protracker does, and apparently Future Composer and Delta Music 2, but I didn't try those yet. smile

Nice one! The thread just went up a few levels in quality.

I thought about making you stick to proper C64 limitations, but it makes it too hard, and most people won't tell the difference anyway. smile Looks great! Now I'm looking forward to seeing what EmThree comes up with! smile

I found a site that would sell me a Philips NMS 8250 for about 50 euros.  It has some minor mods that fix the sound output and have fastrom modification.(?)  Would that be a good deal to get started with MSX music?  I'm really only interested in PSG + SCC, however some FM could be nice but I have other FM solutions.  I'm also excited for Franky support!

Shipping to the US might be pretty painful, quite likely more than the value of the MSX (assuming it's in Europe from the € price), so watch out for that! sad

Not sure ascii/ansi warrants its own thread, so I'll put my doodles here instead.

Here's the thing- the Esoniq is a wavetable synthesizer. Meaning, you really do have to feed it samples. However, the Esoniq is a true wavetable synthesizer in that it is constantly modifying and modulating the samples as they play. If you made a sinewave sample you could then use it and manipulate it just as if you were using a non-sample synth.

(And, not to get snippy on you akira^8GB, but a synth simply means that it's producing the sounds. I find it ironic that you don't like samples but still want to see the synthesis capabilities of the Esoniq.)

Well, there's quite a big difference between a sampler and a wavetable synth. Like you said, "if you made a sinewave sample you could then use it and manipulate it just as if you were using a non-sample synth". I guess it's like using the synth in the sample channel of LSDJ instead of the kits, or using AHX on the Amiga instead of Protracker.

I'd like to hear both sample-tracker and synth-tracker songs coming from your IIGSes, but the synth sounds are surely going to be more unique and special. smile

Maybe someone could tell JSR about this so it can be included in future versions?

Nice! yikes

Soundsmith is possibly a synthtracker, although I've never used it. One of you guys should try it out if you didn't already! smile

48hrs gives you until Monday evening anyway.

I don't mind if you start tomorrow or even Monday, I don't know if Arfink cares though. smile

Ignore me. tongue

400x400 bear, using only shades of green.

It's rubbish, haha, not really even pixel art. sad

Next up, I challenge Akira^8GB to do a 320x200 (preferably) picture of a wall covered in graffiti (the graffiti can be whatever, do something cool, but keep it 'graffiti-style'), using the C64 palette.

yikes You changed my beautiful artwork, did you not like it? Also, it's a jpeg now, sort that out.
