Well if you have money yes, go for the Mopho X4, but I really do like the Tetra and I think it's a great bang for your buck. Also, it's analog, i can't really stand digital stuff anymore.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the Tetra seems awesome.  You're right too, it's a good price for essentially 4 mophos, and the possibilities for expanding voices on other synths make it a great addition.  If I had the money, I'd buy both and have 8 voices tongue

I'd love a Dave Smith, but I don't think the Tetra would be my choice.  I'd rather pay the extra and go for the Mopho x4.
$600 for being a 6 voice synth is great, in my opinion.  Especially with the sounds this thing is capable of.  The Tetra is more and it's only 4 voices.  It's still really great though.  It's fucking Dave Smith.

so what kind of screwdriver do I use for this?

Kitsch also sells bits for this.  Here's the link.  I can attest to them doing the trick as I bought mine from him.  http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/security-bits
*edit*
whoops looks like sammulligan beat me to it.

EvilWezil's original thread that I got the idea from will probably explain the process/concept best:  http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/6976/ … inversion/

The PISSbox lets you do most of that in real time.

Ah, I get it now.  That thread helped.  Quite a long process to do the stereo effects, but the PISSbox takes out the noise right away so you don't have to bother with it on the computer.  Same thing, just quicker.  Neat.

Yup. I've been recording LCR for each channel with this method- up to 10 tracks going and still no noticeable bg noise.

How do you do this, say, if you have a quick panning effect using a table on LSDJ?

Anyone else get one of these?  Would anyone be interested in me changing this to a thread to post patches for the Minibrute?  I've discovered a few cool ones.

This is great stuff.  I love hearing his back story in particular because he and Stefen are the reasons I got into chip music in the first place.  I saw Stefen playing around with his Game Boy at a new years party and thought, "I need to learn how to do this.  I asked him about it and he led me to Logan's site.  Logan sold me my first gear: 2 EMS carts and a transferer II as well as pro sound modded Game Boy.  He was so nice he even gave me a free copy of his self-titled CD.  It's great, go get it.  This interview should outline his contribution to the mods and peripheral gear that is now almost standard.  He's a beast of an engineer.

These songs are great!  I don't mean this as a criticism in any way, but Southern Accent reminds me the slightest bit of Dr. Mario. These bunch of songs are exactly what I love and what I'd like to do myself eventually.  I love incorporating chipmusic with other styles and vice versa.  You've done a great job of that.  I wish I played guitar.  I chose the drums and never realized as a kid that I wouldn't be able to play once I started renting property sad  Oh well, I can always learn!  I can't wait to listen to this while driving.  It seems like some great cruising music.  Once again, (can't say it enough) great job on this!

Whoops...module you said.

May I say, sir, your changing your avatar had me confused at first.  It's like you changed faces.  With Nicholas Cage.  And ended up in jail while your family are in the clutches of a madman!  I've just now realized that this post makes me sound like a rambling lunatic, but fuck it.  Submit.

Modulars seem so fun to play with and showcase sounds with, but I've never found myself saying, "Hey, man, I've got this great modular jam session you need to listen to!"  Still, I'd love to have one.  I wouldn't know the first thing about building one.  Great job on this one.  It sounds awesome!  It always amazes me how many talented people hang out on these boards.

I'm down with this idea.

I know the real name is nonfinite, but nonelectronics is kinda the official abbreviated name.  I don't feel like it matters because we know what he means, and the first thing that comes up when you google nonelectronics is Nonfinite's website and twitter.  Nonelectronics is both the domain name for his website and the page name for his Twitter.  No big deal, if you ask me.

I bought kind of a "starter pack" from Low-Gain's store.  I got a couple flash cartridges, a prosounded gameboy, and a Transferer II.  I never wanted to mod my gameboy from when I was a kid.

I often get sick of my stuff while composing but then think it's pretty good the next day.  I listen to it and am usually proud to have accomplished what I have (because I feel that I'm getting better).  I listen to it several times to see if any parts don't quite translate or could be better, usually while traveling like DKSTR mentioned.  Eventually I always seem to end up listening to artists whose composition and skill I admire to get ideas from and end up getting down on myself for not being good enough.  This happened to me while listening to an0va for inspiration just yesterday tongue  And that's why I hardly ever release anything.  This year though...my resolution has been to release a full album no matter what.
