Will there be an optional wooden model?  I'm Amish, you see, and don't like to depend on batteries or other electronic parts.  So, if this is a viable option, how many oxen will be needed to run it?  Don't even ask how I got on the internet.  Short story...it turns out it's all just a complex series of tubes.

Check out kitsch's shop.  He sells a lot of DIY stuff that has really well explained instructions.  Start with some of that stuff.

Fargo, North Dakota behind the Sunmart on 13th Ave.

1. How long have you been making chiptunes?
I got into it in 2007 and kind of quit for a while, then recently got heavily back into it and have been working on more significant music.
2. What inspired you to begin creating your own music?
Chip music, or music in general?  I've always been into music.  Chip specifically...seeing Unicorn Dream Attack at a new year's house party.
3. What do you personally use to produce chiptunes (Hardware and Software)?
LSDJ, a nebulophone, some nanoloop.
4. What genre of music (besides chip) inspires you the most?
Funk and indie rock
5. What do you know about music theory? Have you ever taken a formal music class?
Yes, I have taken piano, drum, and trumpet.  Trumpet was for school band, which I was involved for 7 years.  I regret not taking more piano as I'd like to have learned more about chords.
6. What do you reccomend for someone who would like to begin making chiptunes (tutorials, software, hardware, online resources)?
Get a gameboy and LSDJ (easiest way to start, in my opinion).  Hit up this site for previous posts (most beginner questions have been asked at some point) and use the LSDJ manual to learn about what it does.  It wouldn't hurt to look up how a synthesizer works.  It makes the learning curve that much less daunting.
7. Do you perform at any live shows?
no

Not too long ago, I finished up my associate's in Recording and Music Technology.  I'm a PA at a local news station.  It can be interesting work, but people who do live TV are a bit intense for my tastes.  Currently looking for something else.  I also have a pretty steady gig traveling around recording a live variety show and editing it for air on the local public radio station.

As for hobbies other than music, I love gaming on pretty much any system, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix and Hulu Plus, and reading tons of comic books.

I guess I kept it alive.  Kind of cool looking/sounding.  It gives you kind of a peaceful feeling.

Have you turned the FX depth down somehow?  That'd be my first guess.
Also, looks like the eurorack ub802 has a mono send/stereo return.  Do you have a mono quarter inch (TS) to RCA going out to the mini KP?  Because, if you are using a stereo quarter inch (TRS), only the left channel will be sent to the mini KP, and the effects will be coming back to the board in stereo and can make it sound funky.

It sounds kind of like what's happening to me, but I haven't found out exactly what's doing it yet.  It does turn on and off when I move the front PCB around.

I've made some progress with this.  I thought it might be the ribbon cable because after I opened it and extended the ribbon cable it came on.  When I pushed it down, though, it would turn off.  I unhooked one of my first mods, and it seems to be working better.  I don't know if that was the problem or if it truly is the ribbon cable.  Thanks for all the feedback guys.  I'm getting closer.  I'd be really glad if I could get it working again.

I'd get one of these.  I've got to represent.

Of course!  400 is a lot of numbers to be better.  big_smile

I'm going to one up you and release my stuff on reel to reel tape.  Booyah!  tongue  No, it's a cool idea.  I would offer other mediums though, because not too many people have tape players anymore.

Don't get Beats.  Beats are not for mixing audio.  They beef up certain frequencies, specifically bass frequencies.  So, when you mix with them, your mixes will end up weak on the bass end on other systems.  What you want is something with a flat frequency response.  If you're not married to the idea of having a detachable cord, Sony MDR-7506 headphones are great and a pretty standard choice in a lot of studios.  I own a pair myself and they are great.  And they are not too expensive.  If you absolutely need a detachable cord, maybe try something like these Sennheisers or these Shures.  An engineer buddy of mine has those, and he likes them a lot.
