It only has MIDI via USB.... and currently there are very few supported Apps (it doesn't work across all music apps)

Interesting.  You forgot AMU and cow'p though!

lol @"forgot" I just didn't put them in this month as I had already finished the thing before 8BP released AMU and cow'p hasn't released anything in a while (unless I missed it) hence his omission...

same goes for Quarta330, big-chip and a bunch of others I think I will cover on months when there is less new stuff in a kind of "From the Archives" type section

Edit: Does EPROM count?

EPROM is amazing but the likes of him and Doshy, Pixelord, Coco Bryce etc are all already fairly heavily covered on the Gen Bass blog so the idea is more straight chip stuff that they don't cover

mind if i link to you in my general links section?

uhhh... sure... I won't have a dedicated part of Gen Bass to link to but I think you can do a "Posts by this Author" type thing.. who knows?? WEB LOGS!!

Also I don't want this to stagnate into just all LSDJ wav wobbles or the like .... so some posts with RadioGraffiti style bass stuff and even some of Jellica's more wonky stuff could def be on the cards... Also I love Jellica and Cow'p's Chipbass mixes have been in my favourite mixtape playlist for a while... Keep the suggestions coming

Hey Guys
just thought I would let you all know I am now writing a monthly post on Generation Bass, feel free to post suggestions or PM me some of your own stuff that you may want featured

my main idea for it is just exposing an open minded new audiences to the chip style and also just to support good artists... I think that Chip music can get a bit insular sometimes so I think it will be nice to have an outlet to promote chip outside of the regular internet circles...

anyway let me know what you think and enjoy!!!

rad works on my ipoon when its plugged into a dock.... WOOP... chipmusic radioz 24/7z

The long-awaited IDM chipmusic-on-chip album 'Today' by Adelaide artist Freezedream is released as a physical 16-bit cartridge for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis video game console. The sound is generated at playtime by the Yamaha YM2612 FM synthesizer chip that is built into the console. The concept is to do away with the conventional audio recording which is the standard format for practically all music now released.

Breathing new life into this obsolete Sega console in 2010, 'Today' aims to reinvigorate interest in old hardware and the idea of listening to music where the sound is generated each time you listen.

Pocket Music is celebrating this milestone in Australian chipmusic by playing back the entire album from the console at the Mana Bar on Thursday the 2nd of December followed by live performances by Dot.AY, VGX and DJ Lame .

A few Cartridges will be available for purchase on the night big_smile

I really think this is raising some good points.....

The consensus seems to be either Don't do it at all or Do it for the Lulz

also @Bright Primate there are no OMGDMG Hairtune kids in Australia we defeated them all...

Surely if you have a clear head for your creativity and direction going on a show like this won't instantly change you into a mainstream whore... I guess this brings up many of the same points that people had about the whole Friends with Fox thing... except this has added potential ridicule and humiliation... even if you would happen to reach some kid in the outback and blow his/her mind dunno if its worth it?

and they are awesome.. so much swagger
