Re: What was your first chip gig like? (100 replies, posted in General Discussion)
My 1st actual chip oriented gig in Las Vegas in 2001, at the classic gaming expo. I thought it was london the following year but now that I think about it, vegas was the 1st time i did c64 remixes and played a c64 live. It went so well that I have played chip shows ever since as well as sparked a full tour the following year in Europe.
(Sorry littlescale!)
Here is a video clip from G4TV's "Extended Play" we are in about 1m20s. My friend Randy played the drums on a midi controller for me.

I entered a comment on my tune saying "testing" and it worked but when i tried to post this it didnt : "What are typical traits of Richards tunes? The old skool rave riffs like at 1:05 are from the original. You can hear it on the silo 64 site. I am a sucker for classic rave riffs. This tune was made around 1998 and re-vamped for the soundtrack. Thank you for the comments!"

No worries guys, there is no requirement to promote your music. If you make music and its just for your own enjoyment, more power to ya!

HI,
Im a big fan of Intergalactic FM, formally known as CBS (Cybernetic Broadcasting System, NE).
4 channels of classic electronic goodness from the 60's-80's:
CH1 - Generations of Electro (Retro Elektro, some rap/hiphop, and electrodance)
CH2 - Not your ordinary Classics (Synth pop/disco and/or Italo disco from 70's/80's)
CH3 - Leader in space and soundtracks (classic 70's & 80's ambient electronic music and synth soundtracks to films, etc)
CH4 - CBS memorial channel (A little of everything that is classic elektro/disko from all times and some APhex type stuff)
Anyone else have some good station/sites?

Re: How do YOU promote yourself? (58 replies, posted in General Discussion)
In Los Angeles, especially the Hollywood area, sound engineers tend to suck. The reason being is 90% are rock/music industry burnouts. They eq your set as if you were a guitar, drum, and bass band. If you are not a rock band, you get even lower quality mixing and communication than the standard substandard treatment other bands get.
If you can bring your own PA do it, but its not required. Trash80(Taco Majorous) has been known to bring a MEGA PA on occasion and it makes all the difference in the world. Once we had a gig where the house basically turned off their pa trying to turn us down, but Tim had his PA too. lol

There have been countless holiday albums, starting with the 8bp album (the 1st?). Only fanboys of certain artists seem to have an issue with anyone else releasing a holiday album. Dont worry about it, your album wasnt even close to lousy. A new rule you should follow is dont shit on yourself in public. lol
