every version i've used freezes up in live mode. Particularly worse with extreme panning and insane sample tampering. Avoid these if you want the live to be reliable. I don't know what you mean with the commands, you can't find the sweep or slide functions?
And you probably haven't posted this in the right place my friend.

cheapshot: I have a save file on the EZIV for each rom (game). Just when you transfer the rom to the SDcard make sure you select flash memory type, not eprom or whatever

There are others but i can't remember/be bothered re-finding.

I'm really just wanting to know which is the best option based on ease of use, compatibility and functionality.

Im aware of things like the CMD HD, but I'm really only interested in portable and lightweight solutions.

Also suggest more, i know these can't be the only gates of passage.

Thanks for everyone offering their experiences with some of this stuff.

dude just buy an EZFlash IV. It uses a miniSD card to store everything and has a pc/GBA client for transfering/running roms.

I bought mine a few months ago, they're still available.

Man that steampunk DMG is amazing. Seriously checkout Datamancer's works!

(btw he makes all the steampunk keyboards/computers you see around)
