Yeah, I am talking to a label at the moment, but the project has evolved more towards minimal tech/minimal IDM. I did write a few minimal wave-ish tracks though; perhaps they'll find their way on to a release at some point..

Production starts now, but it's a new product and the software isn't finished yet, so no pre-orders.

Understood! Can't wait to see the finished product. This is gonna be a real game changer for the chip scene. ACID TIME big_smile

Mine is a sort of "jam session" made with a friend of mine (gas1312). we decided to sync 2 gameboys and compose in real time. I mean that we started with an empty song and we coded wile playing! It obviously become something really endless and trippy! here it is:

I did something similar with atomsmasha last saturday, using nanoloop. It was surprisingly easy to get something going super quickly! I'd love to do some 'duo' live minimal tech performances where we build the whole set on the spot.

The post-filter output for each channel is available, but it's pre-envelope.

Ah, interesting, could make for some cool effects. I guess in theory then it's possible to route the signal out to effects and then back in to the envelope..?

Did you say this would be the pcb cart like the recent nl1 carts? That must be some impressive SMD tech!

Thanks for answering my never-ending questions. I'm so keen to check this thing out, will definitely pre-order as soon as I can!

Cool! Does that mean that it could also be hacked for multi-out post-filter?

if you want repetitive..

It's not really trance or progressive house or dnb though, more along the lines of minimal tech. I've got some new stuff in the works which is a bit more fleshed out with reverb and other devices (still repetitive though big_smile) but the above album is 100% nanoloop 2.7.2.

Yeah I'd go for GBC over GBP.

Have you considered a GBA though? SP perhaps?

Not a dealbreaker at all! It'd just make nanoloop even closer to being like having an elektron sequencer for gameboy big_smile

external audio:

tone and noise pre-filter signals appear on the cart surface. you could solder wires for external audio on the vias. in nanloop, a certain note value could be reserved as empty

amazing! I think this might mean that I'll have to create a "permanent nanoloop" DMG with an external audio jack built into the DMG itself and soldered to the NL cart big_smile

wow, gonna grab one of these for sure. Instant techno machine!

Do you think there's any possibility to have some kind of external audio input for the filter(s)? It'd be cool to sync it to something else but also run the sync slave through the filters on the cart, using the step sequencer to control the filter, like on elektron products big_smile

I've recorded longer tracks but they were more along the lines of improvised ambient looping things or experimental band/duo pieces.

this is my thing. I don't really compose full tracks anymore, just improv

Yeah, I'm heading in that direction as well, for my 0F.digital stuff anyway. I've been trying to get the attention of minimal tech labels but it's a bit difficult when my "tracks" keep evolving..

Funny, I had a dream last night that you wrote a 700 track album...haha
Could still happen.

hahah! 700 short tracks? Could be an interesting exercise..

I don't set limits. I love long tracks, even repetitive ones. My tracks are rarely under 5 minutes long these days.

My longest actual composition is Titan parts II–IV which is over 17 minutes long; I've recorded longer tracks but they were more along the lines of improvised ambient looping things or experimental band/duo pieces.

I'm working on a new prog album where I'm planning for each track to be between 10–20 minutes long. I've thought about splitting the tracks into their movements, but they're really designed to be listened as whole compositions.

that is fkn amazing!

The BennVenn GBA carts seem to be pretty solid.
