I updated one of my NL 2.7.5 carts to the latest versions and my songs completely changed so I downgraded back to 2.7.5
It's a pity because I really wished I had that 'note view'.
yeah I liked the old noise channel's functionality more than the gb/metallic noise (old version is better for EBM/industrial snares) so I've kept 2.7.2 on one cart and have upgraded my other cart to 2.7.9.2. Tbh though, the note view is a little confusing when switching between the oneshot/repeating arp on the L/R channels, or switching between unison and chord mode on S.. it doesn't seem to have any visual feedback? Granted, it's probably pretty difficult to show any extra information when four notes are in each tiny box.
ok so the adapter (I got from you) works because its connecting via the web browser but when I hit start/select it doesnt go back to Nintendo logo like it says. Could this be a cable error or not because of it being able to link or am I doing something wrong? If anyone has any demo video//anything along those lines please link me or fill me in
what kind of cable are you using? how far along into the process are you getting? I think you need to start the process at the web browser end before holding start/select when turning the GBA on.. I think the GBA gives some kind of feedback to initiate the transfer, and that's when the logo should appear again and pulsate.
The latest version of nanoloop 2 (2.7.9.2) reduces the hum when synced via USB.
hooray it also fixes mute!
Do you think there's scope to fix the "jump to 250bpm if you accidentally use B+LEFT/RIGHT to change to empty pattern" bug? I do realise it's a rite of passage for all nanoloopers
- work is getting so fkn boring that I feel like I'm losing knowledge; I essentially spend a lot of time showing vendors in India how to do my job, checking their work and hoping to be made redundant (and/or stick around for one more year so I can quit and get my long service leave paid out), it's causing a bit of an existential crisis and I may lose my mind if I don't do something about it - music time at home is getting rarer and it's hard to block out a good few hours to just make some tunes in the studio; as a result I am still using nanoloop2 more than any of my more professional gear, simply because I can use it on my lunchbreak.. I have tons of new gear to learn and dig into though, and am not sure when I'll get that chance - not as many people seem to "get" why I want to make minimalist, super repetitive "chip but doesn't sound like chip" music as I initially expected

- I watched Cuckoo's video interview with the bastl guys (here if you haven't seen it) and while it made me depressed at how my job is super dull in comparison, it gave me inspiration to get back into electronic engineering and maybe follow in the footsteps of my dad, who owned a successful music instrument/amp repairs business for many years, and is also an inventor. - new musical collaborations are looking promising - I finally have a nord lead after 15 years of desiring one - as an aside to the last negative point, I am coming to terms with the fact that I'm a borderline outsider in the chip scene, and fuck it, I'm gonna make my music as minimalist/sound design focused as I want

tony banks is my hero, he's got such a good sense of writing weird chord progressions that are somehow still really catchy.
I really wish they'd built link cable support into the power connector. There's certainly enough space for extra pins.
I'm wondering, is there *any* chance that the processor is capable of outputting/receiving link port data and just isn't connected to anything? Like, a hack that can be done somehow? I don't know enough about processors and electronics (yet) to go poking around..
Otherwise maybe a future nanoloop2 cart could have an analog sync port on the cart itself? oliver pls
Sounds like you're in experimental territory here. Since the backing is just a thin sheet of reflective material glued to the screen, what about a thin piece of glass mirror in place of the backlight? Maybe u could find a reflective plastic membrane and glue it on like tinting a car window. They have it all over the walls in these colorado flower stores for growing flowers.
This is an interesting idea.. if you use something super reflective (ie. moreso than the film from a stock gameboy) would it mean you could see your reflection in it?!
You will also want to keep an eye on BennVenn's store page/Facebook page - he's got a ton of stuff being produced at the moment and being released as and when it's ready - including his new SD flash carts. Basically, these are cheaper than Everdrive, better than Everdrive and can run multiple LSDJ instances in them with 128K (Everdrive can only manage one song in a 32K RAM).
Seconded. Plus the guy is an absolute champion; he's gone out of his way to help me on a couple of occasions, even for products that he had nothing to do with.
Let Andre be a cautionary lesson for everyone and really try to look after your ears. I would urge anyone going to concerts or shows etc to wear earplugs and to listen to music at a comfortable level when at home or making music. While you might not be that bothered now, over time you can do significant and serious damage to your hearing and I wouldn't want anyone to suffer like Andre has/is.
yeah I scared myself at a Sunn O))) gig around 10 years ago, my ears were ringing for a couple of days afterwards. From then on I decided to wear earplugs at pretty much every show. I have friends who never wear them, one friend in particular who is almost proud of not wearing earplugs, like it's some feat of endurance or something.. I just can't afford to lose any more hearing than what I probably already have.
