I gotta say SurfaceDragon is a hell of a guy. Thanks a LOT man, the stuff you do is awesome and you're very kind. Gonna send you a message later.

actually the guys who make .xm and .mod songs exclusively should be glad they're not in the game boy circle jerking business. They have an AUDIENCE of their own!

im kind of sad if really most of you dont use live mode on your stuff for gigs
how does that not bore the fuck out of you as an artist while performing live?

Actually, I think most people that use song mode on their LSDJ/LGPT live sets compensate the lack of pattern triggering by changing instruments and tables parameters.

Or am I wrong?

i spent a lot of time travelling for work, so handhelds becomes a must for me.

Works the same way for me.

But if someday I give up being a video editor and have more patience to write music at the computer, I'd surely be more kind to Ableton Live and Plogue Chipsounds. I really love that combo.

BUT i think playing modules in a live setting would be a lot more exciting, if the software was adapted to accommodate live manipulation, like queueing up chains of patterns and more intelligent launching/muting of parts, instead of just clumsily soloing/muting channels during playback.  that kind of live tweaking is what the other chip artists have the benefit of through their software.

yeah, it would be good if the old module trackers could be "up to date" and have more live features. Like gwen does with his maxYMiser.

The main reason I don't do music at home on my laptop is because I get so tired sitting in front of it while working. That's when handhelds become so refreshing.

I'm watching some really good Computer Chronicles videos at Prellinger Archives and just wanted to rip this part for you guys.

yeah, the caanoo version is really great. Too bad the dingoo version is a piece of shit.

my second EP, from 2009, is .xm based. I had a great fun writing it and I'll surely do it again in the future.

I have prosound on a few regular DMG's and the drop is just too much.  So if it's similar to that, then it won't work for me.  But I just bought a third pocket that I will leave unmodded for writing and the prosound ones I'll use for recording and live shows.

that's the best way to go, IMO.
