Not sure what you guys think about Disrupt/Jahtari, but his new album made with LSDJ deserves a mention here.
http://www.jahtari.org/music/JTR16.htm. I didn't like it as much as his "normal" material, but it's still good.

Sounds awesome. Downloaded.

Cool. Glad you guys are liking it and I appreciate the kind words. I'm always looking for future stuff to release, so demos are welcome if anyone feels like they want to do a tape release sometime in the future.

Also: I forgot to mention that there is a bonus track of sorts I did as part of Weekly Beats that you can download here.

I have a new release I thought I would share. It isn't strictly chipmusic, but there is some Nanoloop 2.3 (and even a little bit of Famitracker) in there. It's pretty simple stuff built around procedurally generated sequences, and it falls somewhere between my usual sound and straight up ambient music.

It's called Alpine Sequences and is available on bandcamp (tape & digital formats). It is the first release on my new label called Hel.

Sounds good Tom. Excited to give it a proper listen.

It took a bit longer than expected, but here's my new release. This one is based more on sampling & collaboration. I used pretty much every piece of musical equipment I own, but the main sources are Korg's DW-8000, my trusty Casio MT-68, & nanoloop 2.3. You can listen/download here. If you want an audiovisual sample, watch this video.

01 Iapetus
02 Scrambled
03 2019 I
04 2019 II
05 2019 III
06 Rhea
07 Sunlight
08 Home From Space
09 Scrambled (Forest World Remix)
10 Home From Space (Downstate Remix)

Album download includes "Sunlight" stems. JP Haynie played guitar on 02, The Boy Who Could Fly played guitar on 06, Ben Best added ambience on 03 & 06. Many thanks to Forest World & Downstate for their excellent remixes.

I've been enjoying this whole release so much. The tracks by 505 and Tao are wonderful.

This is my attempt at recording a new song every day for the month of December. I didn't have much time due to working 10 hours a day, but I like the result.

1 A NEW ENGLAND
2 EUROPA
3 FOUNDATION
4 LONELY
5 AUTONOE
6 GANYMEDE
7 EUPORIE
8 DELUXE (IMMER WIEDER)
9 SOLSTICE

BONUS TRACK: LONELY (DR. SIAK EDIT)

These songs are on the spacey side. DS-10, Nanoloop 2.3, and Casio MT-68 are the main instruments here, but I also used a theramin, homemade noise box, and Casio SK-1. 'A New England' is a cover of Billy Bragg and features The Boy Who Could Fly on vocals. 'Deluxe' is a cover of Harmonia. 'Lonely' is made up of samples from JP Haynie's 'Family River' song.

Available for downloading & streaming @ bandcamp. Also available from mediafire.

I think a shout out to VBlank is in order for the awesome visuals.

Some of this has already been mentioned (but it's worth repeating anyway):

Giorgio Moroder - From Here To Eternity & E=MC²
Cabaret Voltaire - The Original Sound Of Sheffield '78 / '82
Space - Magic Fly
Raymond Scott - Soothing Sounds For Baby
Cluster - Zuckerzeit
Clara Rockmore - The Art Of The Theremin
Crash Course In Science - Cardboard Lamb
The Normal - Warm Leatherette / TVOD

The OHM compilation mentioned earlier is a good listen in more of a historical sense than a musical one. Definitely interesting stuff. There are some excellent compilations of early European electronic music you might enjoy: BIPPP, So Young  But So Cold, and The Lost Tapes.

I'm glad ant1 points out some musicdisks. The large amount of EPs released in chipmusic is a quite new phenomenon. Just 10 years ago or so, I think there were more chipdisks released than EPs.

Some of my personal favourite chipdisks include:
Beepdealers - Chipdisk #1 (Windows, 2002)
Razor 1911 - Chipdisk 4, The Essentials (Windows, 2004)
Backtrack - ihyper (Windows, 2004)
IRIS & Up Rough - Planet Hively (Multi-platform, 2008)
Rebels - Chipmusicdisk #1 (Windows, 2002)
Warryorz (Atari ST, 2003)
Tequila - ouch (Windows, 2000)

Can't be bothered to mention EPs and albums for now, sorry smile

That Warryorz chipdisk is super good. I'm going to have to check out some other YM Rockerz stuff.
