any of the wave editors will do, you use a audio unit or vst for eq, thats how most people work anyway.

Twisted wave is pretty good.

you have to specify a budget.

I know this is old but I guess I missed this thread...

The prosound shape is different because the lack of a CAP. Also though the stock sp the cap looks to be a little extreme- so maybe just changing out the cap with a different (higher?) value would give close to the same results.

how are you doing this? I got an arduino last month and the first thing I tried to do was FM synthesis. I sorta gave up on it because it was just too frigging lo-fi and grainy. I couldn't imagine making "music" this way because it couldn't even handle 2 operators, let alone 8 operator pairs as in OPL2 FM.

Looks like hes using a chip synth. smile

No I mean I have a arduino in my dmg (pro mini)
I've been working on it for a few days. It's a sample oscillator and drum sample player. Using a 4bit r2r dac which sounds a bit better than using pwm. It's using some custom lsdj code thats not available at the moment. Heres a old clip from friday, the only thing gameboy is the pu1 synth.

I hate to be 'that guy' but is there any chance of getting a name change?  This is really fantastic software and I don't want to be crippled by the fact that I might not be able to use it everywhere.

Sure no problem, I can certainly understand that. I'll add in some kind of "work mode" in the upcoming versions.

Businesscore mode.

That's the same cable I used to program each one.  It will definitely work.  Just be sure to line up the black wire with the GND label on the six pin header.

8bc has been having minor server issues over the last week or so. it's not just you.

Sigh. Anyone who's ran a community forum knows how one asshat can make everyones experience miserable.

Also you'd know everything is a balance- Too much patrolling and people hate it, too little and a few jerks run the site into the ground.
Some of us have come from other sites either as mods or devs or both, we've tried to improve upon our experiences.

This site is modded by a team of people, almost all decisions are made via committee- Including mod rules, site rules, and enforcing them. If you have a specific issue, PM one of us so we can get on the same page. Closing threads usually is either because a topic has gone out of hand and off topic, or in some rare cases closed by request of the author of the thread.

There are no conspiracies, mods are not rogues, there are no random reasons for our actions, and most of us are usually on IRC- Espernet #chipmusic.

+5v is a standard thing for logic. Sometimes its 3.3v but in the case of gameboy rest assured its 5v. The cost of stepping up the voltage on something like 3volts to 5volts just shortens the battery life- aka it uses more amperage.

The clicking is the result of lsdj writing to the waveform buffer, its a hardware thing and can not be prevented unfortunately. The less timbre (like a sine wave) the more noticeable.
