does sound like some how you have either got some code wrong some how, or you have wired it in some way where the button is being triggered by the clock, and so it is changing mode on clock pulse,

erm seriously people, you forgot TERTRIS!!!!

sad

bump, no one?

hi all,

i am after some cheap gameboy pockets for experimenting on. not fussed about conditon just as long as they are cheap.

i can get them for about £5 / $8 on ebay, so wanting cheaper than that. i know thats practically nothing, but if you have any you were going to throw away or anything like that i would be interested.

thanks

thats the picture i was refering to,

the reason is goes right, left, left, right, is because there are two loops, the contacts loop around the pot from one side to the other, to do them right left right left, would mean they would have to cross over inside the pot which is impossible.

Do you have a how-to on this? or a diagram/picture? that sounds nicer for recording/performing purposes (not that i think i'll pre performing any time soon...)

i have a picture on my computer, which i didnt do, so i cant post without permiton...

but if you open the gameboy you have 5 solder points in a line next to the volume control they are ordered like this:

0---Right, before volume control
0---Left before volume control
0---Left after volume control                       ---> volume control is here right side of the gameboy
0---Right after volume control
0---Ground

i am not at MY computer at the moment so i cant confirm that but i am almost 100% sure thats right. so just wire the wires to the top solder points instead of the bottom ones

24 indeed. You can actually figure this out in the program. 1 step (with the default groove) is 6 ticks. That's what the groove function does, counts ticks. 1 step=1/16. 4 steps=1/4. 4*6=24.

ah cool smile

i was a bit unsure because i would have thought it would be a binary multiple, so i thought it would be 8 or 16,

but thanks for that, no to start on my new idea!

hi all,

does anyone know exactly how many clock transitions there are in relation to BPM?

it seems to be 24, is that right?

but those cables only seem to have 4 wires, i would assume that pin 4 is missing because it doesn't do anything, and maybe power is missing, or maybe the shelding is ground?

okay so i really want to do some work linking up two DMGs, but the problem is that all ive gotten (mostly as add-ons to gameboy auctions) are those connectors that have a color/pocket sized conector on one end, and one DMG and one color/pocket connector on the other.

can i do some soldering to make one DMG to DMG cable?

yep, but you could get an adapter to change it to a DMG to DMG cable, or buy a DMG to DMG cable to make it reliable.

or you could buy some more DMG cables and make a 5 way LSDJ sync cable!

damn! i forgot that bit, got the golden wire wheels and everything!

first of all i have never used a PS2 keyboard plug for an LSDJ keyboard. the two times i have built a DMG for use with a keyboard i put the PS2 socket in the gameboy rather than mod the keyboard itself, making any standard keyboard work as an LSDJ keyboard see here:

so thats personally how i would do it. but if you want to mod the keyboard itself then you are going to have to wire the link cable directly to the board....

so erm, i think that G will be ground, D will be data V will be 5v+ and C will be clock.

so try wiring pin 1 of the gameboy cable to V, pin 3 to D, pin 5 to C, and pin 6 to D.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxumMYlkrDE  this is the prototype of the TV interface, it has been refined now.

the transparent buttons came from Kitch, seach Kitch bent in google for his shop. but he has sold out, i got the last set. but the word is that more buttons will be coming soon of all kinds of colours
