By the way, the title track "Like A Phoenix" has emerged (pun? I don't know) as my favorite on this record. So much fun, so subtly complex, so intense. Very good.
In my mind, this record is sort of like a sequel to Dirty Electricity. It sounds SO different from that one, though. A lot of people loved Dirty Electricity, and in some ways Like A Phoenix feels like a maturation of what we heard on that release. Am I making sense?

I really love how diverse 8BP has been lately. This is the kind of stuff you don't see on there as often, and it's really cool.
This release in particular is so thorough and so much fun. Lovin' me some Roopy.

Wizwars: that's a perfectly fair critique. I love this release because I don't think of it as a few steps back, I think of it as him going back to an older style. I like that he's done so because he has a lot of new stuff that goes in different directions and it's great.
Also, I will never ever get over how beautiful that album art is. I'm not even exaggerating. It's perfect.
