I did put the foam pieces back in.
When you say heat, do you mean full soldering iron heat or...?
I really don't know where the break could be, I was so careful and the ribbon cables look unadamaged...

Count me in please!
Any deadline?
Turns out I had removed the polarization film in the step where it said to remove the protective plastic film.
The contrast now works, But I still can't see anything onscreen.
Just installed a backlight from kitsch on one of my gameboys, it used to have no vertical lines and the ribbon cable was in perfect condition. After installation, the backlight turns on as expected, yet nothing is displayed on the screen. Fiddling with the contrast dial does nothing. I opened it again to look at the ribbon cables for breaks, and everything seems to be about as good as before. I'll be taking some pictures on sunday or as soon as I can get my hands on a camera that's not total shit, but I was just posting early to see if someone had any suggestions. Thanks!
On the screw: Try using a lot of pressure,or a different size screwdriver. Stop as soon as you feel any slipping to prevent the screw from stripping any more. If it's already past any help, you're gonna have to unscrew every other screw and slowly and cut the screw post from the inside somehow or something. Which means you're never gonna be able to close the whole thing properly. Stripped screws suck.
I love it. Even the shitty instrumentals that truly weren't that shitty like Dr. Drank/INSERTDISC's stuff.
I prefer that to the really bad quality singing of bands like early IAE and I shot the duck hunt dog. But yeah, it seems like it was just a passing fad. So sad. I didn't even know the pokemon split was actually going to happen and not gonna stay at it's current status of 20 songs for Gengar, Golbat and Gyarados. And I wouldn't describe monomate's new stuff as ambient in the least.
There was actually a local band going around a few months ago calling themselves nintendocore but all they did was sample mario it was so sad.......... I asked and they didn't know nintendocore was a thing on the internet.
There was someone here on the forums with a broken one looking to get it fixed (I think he plugged in a bad power cord or something).
And I think it's an awesome device as well.
I'm trying to keep this setup as simple as possible (RB Keyboard->aboy->mGB) , but I'll look into the vst option. Thanks.
How hard would it be to modify mGB to play arps when you hit two notes at the same time? Has anyone attempted this before? Lack of chords is frustrating.
1. About two years.
2. Adopting this extreme attitude of "have fun through creation, and not consumption of media." Being frustrated with my writing (Not so bad in retrospect) Owning handhelds.
3. NDSi(korgm01/glitchDS) and a DMG(lsdj). A rock band keyboard, a korg electribe ea-1. I kind of like sunvox but the actual tracking aspect of it puts me off for some reason (So used to lsdj's control scheme)
4. Jazz, Punk, Industrial. I like to listen to math rock a lot, but as a newbie musician I'm too intimidated to try incorporating that into chip.
5. I know some chords and can read sheet music at a snail's pace. I took no classes and read no books.
6. Start with an easy to use sequencer and then move on to trackers. Anything on a handheld will probably get you working faster than anything on a computer. Watch this entire series--> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atvtBE6t48M twice, if need be. RTFM.
7. I did once.
7.a. At a small coffee shop in my college campus during the slow hours.
7.b. Didn't want to seem like some kid in my bedroom playing with toys. Wanted to learn how to work with mixers and PA systems a bit.
7.c. I didn't plan it out, ended up using everything, even my laptop. Ended up sampling tunes directly from my pokemon blue cart. Ended up using the gb camera a lot more than I thought I would.
I'm 19 and I frequently question existence most of my time. Whenever I'm not doing that I fail at being a computer engineering student and wonder why I haven't switched majors already. I do a lot of graphic design for shits, and I guess I do music for shits now, too. I'm a huge supporter of my local metal/punk scene and I don't talk about chiptunes much to my friends even though some have heard of it.
i am the god of hair
My hair used to be a chick magnet but it hasn't worked in a few months so I must assume James stole my title and now we must spar to the death.
Holy shit.

EXPLAINS A LOT.
Once I saw a band live and one dude played like 3 keyboards and a theremin.
Went to compliment them and ask about music theory and he's like "Man, fuck that, it's only good for communicating with other musicians. Just jam, practice, repeat."
look up oblique strategies
And listen to math rock.
