"many others"? Understatement!

Agreed. The idea with blanking out the eyes of a person to remove that level of intimacy or to induce a form of anonymity is quite common with many alternative bands.

I was exploring something entirely different. Contrary to my previous statement, which may have been taken as a serious comment by some, it has nothing to do with the soul.

The cover was an exploration of martyrdom and sacrifice. The original photograph is of two horses on a carousel, taken at the base of Montmatre, synonymous with the concept of martyr. One horse looks disheveled and violent, the other looks focused and with purpose. The more restless of the two was omitted from the cover. If the restful horse is, in fact, dead - as a sign of respect, I have covered his eyes. He may not be a martyr but he will likely outlive all of his owners and all riders of the carousel.

There was also a long-running chipmusic collection on the Amiga during the nineties called "fish'n'chips".

Funny how everyone seems eager to discuss the name, but so far only one post regarding the music itself... smile

Because that is people's first impressions. I wouldn't buy an action film called 'Big Explosions & Guns' that had a big explosion on the front and a gun. With pictures of Arnie on the back and various references to other action movies. It feels cheap, to me.

There's a brilliant arcade cabinet you may be familiar with, also looks great

PS - Is your e-mail address still the same? Curious if you're still wanting to kit out the Game Boy for me.

THANKS, sorry I havent replied... but I have not got my backlights from nonfinite, and I dont think I will be able to backlight it for you. I do have the DMGs now. I can still paint it and pro-sound it if you like?

Won't be able to backlight because you're yet to receive or from a technical viewpoint? Would you be able to send it over to kitsch to have the prosound and backlight done and I'd just pay you for the paint job?

In a way that, if I made rock music, I would avoid calling my first EP The Rolling Stones.

That would be somewhat cool. I quite enjoy the dynamic nature that would bring to signatures.

I play shows, people ask me to play more shows.
I make music I want to and keep my integrity.
I could start making music that would appeal to more, but I don't want to.
I make the music I hear in my head.

It needs to be there to blank out the horses eyes.
Horses can steal your soul if they look directly at you, then they ride back into the sea.

oh, i wasn't claiming plagiarism! quite the opposite. like calling your album atebit or something - it has probably be done. it can really take away from a release of the titles seem a bit throw away - same with the cover art. your music may be awesome but the image being portrayed by the cover art is less than what one would hope for in a release.

i thought there was already a chip event called fish and chiptunes? pretty uninspiring and too chip referential in terms of cover and names.

Well, this was released to be slim - so it can accommodate NSF's of various sizes. However, it could easily be combined with the source code of galleryNES (also by me, also open) to do something like that! It all depends on the size and number of NSF tracks and pictures.

This is brilliant. Making a crossover of galleryNES and this would also be great - it'd make it much easier for NES based artists to release their tracks on carts and as nifty roms.

Again, kudos for bring this to the people.
