do you use a sealant?

I do if you want me too for added protection. I personally never ear coat my personal gameboys I keep for myself because I don't like the feel it gives a gameboy. I like the texture of the original DMG makes them even more unique in my opinion because every Nintendo handheld released after the DMG is very smooth. I will clear coat the paint jobs if requested, I have clear gloss and clear matte I use as sealant. It will cost no extra for me to seal the paint job. However I have never had an issue with any peeling or chipping or smearing except for my NESBoy. Makes it look a little rugged in my opinion. You have to keep in mind it all depends on how you handle your gameboy, if you don't take care of them they will scratch wether its sealed or not. Anyone that spray paints game boys will tell you the same thing. I know I went into a lot of detail but I just wanted to explain it best I can. In short, yes I will use sealant if asked. It will help for awhile but it depends on the handler of the gameboy. I u
Am very careful with cases and she. I do seal them I paint them on thick plastic with a towel under the plastic for padding. You're case will be in the same condition as received when returned to you with the exception of a new paint job of course. xD

I'm curious about the clockboy. Was that originally a clear case, and if so how did you get that awesome color on it? By the way, I absolutely love the Harley Quinn one. wink

Thanks man, glad to see someone may be interested lol. And yes the clockboy was clear I dyed the case with black dye and that's how it came out. As for the Harley Quinn thank you loads man it took me about 36 hrs to to paint it. About a week on and off. If you want anything like either of these I'll do it and give you a really good price. Just hit me up man. And thanks again.

Go to recent posts for new Gameboys posted smile

Decided to help clean the site a little and combine my FS/FT page with my custom paint page.

Items for Sale currently are The NES Boy Modded DMG and a gameboy advance. Scroll down for pics and prices.

Here are a few examples of my work starting with the first piece I ever did.

The NES Boy: For Sale-100$, was 130$ USD Shipping not included. Please PM if Interested.

Mods were done by George of Modolith.com

The Pink Peach:

Did this one for my god daugter.

The Harley Quinn Front:

The Harley Quinn Back:

The Soundwave:
-Sold

The SteamBoy/Clockwork Boy:

I even Customized the Power Switch with a pocket watch dial for added effect, as you can see in the image below.

Also I only charge for time not materials such as paint. Unless you are wanting something really unique like The SteamBoy, then I have to buy the parts to do that, which will be added to the cost. But I will get quotes before I go buy stuff. For example, let's say you want a DMG covered in Lego's, I'll have to buy the Lego's. I will search online and local hobby stores for bulk batches or Legos and give you a quote on the cheapest batch I find. Say it's 15$ but I only use half of them on the DMG. I'll only charge you $7.50 for parts used.

If you're interested in getting your case custom hand painted, or customized in a crazy way, just hit me up and I'm sure we can come to an agreement. I am willing to take on any ideas. I will, however, let you know if I honestly can't do what you're asking or if I even have any doubts.

Thank you. xD

I'm horrible with leds. I tried to do my own backlight kit once. Wrecked it lol. Soldering isn't a sport for me it seems. REALLY nice work on this thing man. Love the weathering.

Yea soldering takes practice man. I'm still not the best at it but I've gotten better over time. I used to have giant blobs on my connections, it was bad and I mean really bad lol. As for the weathering effect, all that is is a failed dye job. I didn't stir the black dye in all the way so I put the case in and it sat directly on the dye crystals and gave it that effect lol.

Update Added a Game Boy Advance.

What makes this case lighting? I'm curious as to how you did it. Did you notch the button stays and glue LEDs in place pointing towards the buttons?

Well I guess it it technically button lighting by definition..but yes I cut away at the button stays so they light from the bottom pointing up at the buttons. I used flat panel LEDs attached to a small board that i salved from some light up shudder shades i bought from work, so i didnt glue them in place the way they sit is actually very secure and they do not move at all even when shaking the gameboy around vigorously. They will probably be glued down eventually but as stated i have quite a bit more i plan on doing to the case and having to pull them out after gluing them down would be a pain in the ass. Also they have a button switch that changes settings on the lights. Press it once they flash fast..twice they flash slower and third they are just solid and stay on. I wired them into the DMG battery source so they do not work when the DMG is powered off. I was debating on using it's own battery source but decided against as it would just waste more space in the case.

Here's a pic of the LEDs i salvaged and used:

Not sure exactly what they would be called. But I laid a little hot glue bubble on them to distribute the light more and it helped a ton. I guess it would sort of be like diffusing of a normal led lol.

My god man! You're doing this with just a demo? You Dexter Theme cover/remix is very nice. Freaking wicked. And I'm listening to your Mario had a bad shroom as I'm typing this and DAMN that's some dirty ass raw sounds you through in this mix. I LOVE IT! It's nice to see you have skills that range from dirty as hell to actually some pretty clean sounds. And I love how you mixed the two in your Dexter mix. You come across some wicked clean melody and some dirty ass kicks man very very nice. I love the part in the Dexter one that sounds like a dirty wav sweep. I picture it being the scene when he's shaving his face it fits perfect. I can't stop listening to the Dexter one...went back to it just now lol. It's a sick mix. Okay enough about Dexter. The Party's An is pretty sick too again with the nice clean melody and then kicking in with the dirty kicks around 1:09 just awesome man and then it eventually speeds up. Confused about the name personally because, for some reason, it makes me think of a group punks or something getting ready to go take down the establishment. Like a massive mob of people on a mission for freedom or something. And then theres a melody in it that kind of makes it seem like they are about to fail then it picks up again and then just cuts off. Leaves the mind to wonder what happens like a brilliant movie or book or something like Stephen Kings book The Mist, not the movie version. In the book it just ends with them driving off into the mist not knowing what's going to happen. Very creepy ending. Any way yea, you're a genius keep it up man. Be honest it's bee a really long time since I've typed up a review this long and it's usually because most music doesnt make me think and wonder lol. I usually just enjoy it for what it is obviously suppose to be. But you have a way of composing that keeps the mind wondering..atleast my mind anyway. great job man. Definitely looking forward to hearing more from you.

this looks really nice man. great work!

Thanks man. The pictures don't give it justice at all. The buttons are Teal which is a blue with a hint of green so it glows blue but has this really cool highlighted green effect around the inner edges of the buttons it's really cool to see in person.

NICE. Want. lol

If you're really interested I will be selling this thing eventually. I just have to get a backlight installed and I plan on doing a lot of "weird" case mods to it. I'm going for a Fallout styled damaged look overall.

With lights turned off.

And yes that's a white Darth Vader in the top right hand corner... <_<

blue LEDs w/ clear buttons,

or

white LEDs with clear blue buttons?

Its actually your clear teal buttons with blue leds. xP I like the look of the teal on this case when the lights are off and the blue looks good also so I combined the two lol. I originally did it with green but it made the buttons look horrible.

Just my feeble attempt at case lighting. Thought I'd post a pic.

I didn't want to drill holes in the buttons and have the LEDs shining directly in my face because I do plan on backlighting it and using it in the dark. And LEDs in te face would hurt like hell after about 10minutes of use.
