Don't ask for other peoples advice, it's your name. shit's stupid. Also just upload the song, the worst that happens is your user name isn't your artist name.

well that was fun, idiots.

I'm trying to understand the M.O. behind this post. If you are legitimately interested in making music, it shouldn't matter how "promising" it is. Just do it.

This is going to sound kind of douchey but if you are just window-shopping for "marketable" subcultures you have no business here.

I think you're missing his point. He's already said that he just enjoys making the music, he's doing this for some sort of project.

haha, it was, you could do it update 2.2 to 2.3 or just upgrade the version of 2.3 (if oliver or someone else hooked you with a new rom or mb)
not widely known though, like the fact that you can grab the 128 Mbit ROM off the orig nanoloop 2.3 cart (which will include all your sved data) and run it ot off a flash cart like you could the demo ROM (no saving, extra keypresses required to boot), but it would have all your songs in it, kinda nice for those who like to drink while playing live so you dont risk saving over a loop smile
never got restoring that rom & save data to the orig cart to work, sadly (tried the software oliver had recommended, that corrupted the rom, & cart swap method using a flash cart= just doesnt work)

Huh, interesting, how would one go about pulling a ROM off of a cart though?

LINEUP UPDATE: unfortunately A.M.U will not be performing this year. Trust me when I say that I am among the most heartbroken over this. HOWEVER an equally heavy hitter, knife city joins the lineup and, put simply, will slay.

thanks for making this list, awesome!

so this doesn't kill 2.3 song data? hmmm has anyone had a chance to upgrade their cart? worried about the compatability of 2.3 songs in 2.5 enough that i wont upgrade until a few other people try it first

I upgraded using an EZ Flash IV, no problems, no data loss, songs sound exactly the same.

So, I can update Nanoloop 2.3 with my GBA flash cart. I don't know why that didn't occur to me before.

Because I don't believe that's ever been an option before smile

man. I hope blip tokyo keeps going for a few years because I won't be able to go for a while sad

If there's anyone to replace AMU i'd say Knife City's the dude. I really wanted to see AMU, but Knife City will be thoroughly awesome.

No doubt.

Would be nice to see nanoloop offered as a ROM version like LSDJ though.

Yeah, but at the same time the hardware of the actual carts is really nice, and I personally really like having one cart as one program. A choice would be nice but it would be hard to make a profit selling the rom.

Blimey!

I take it the 2.5 update rom cannot be ran stand-alone on something like Visual Boy Advance, right?

I wouldn't imagine so, it relies on the hardware, basically you run it on one, and then switch the carts. So probably not. :\

What's New

The current version 2.5 is a minor update to its predecessor 2.3. Functions, design and file format are the same, except for the following differences:

- More accurate nanolooop-to-nanoloop sync
- "Load on first beat" option for loading patterns
- Preview load in song editor also loads empty patterns
- Pattern length in song not fixed to 16 steps
- Song can start immediately or in sync with current pattern

2.5 carts contain a new flash chip. The 2.5 software is compatible with the new chip and the old one, so it can be installed on 2.2 / 2.3 carts, too.

I've also found that when you press select when it starts up instead of doing just a greyscale version, it inverts whites and blacks, but keeps the pink of the squares.

There's also an update rom so if you have a GBA flash cart you can load the update rom on there and then just use that like you would in the cart to cart update process described on the page. I tried it and it works perfectly.

last video is up, the ones that come before it are coming..
