Micropalooza is a yearly event in Portland that is hosted by Ground Kontrol, and DataPort is SUPPOSED to be happening monthly.

General comment, though: Hard disks fail based how long time they've been on and spinning. CF cards fail based on how many times you write to them. If you keep cycling the content on them, they'll wear out eventually, but if you mostly just read from them, they'll last forever, where a spinning disk would eventually fail.

However, hard disk failure is MUCH more based on chance than a finite amount of time, as they will fail, but it could be hours or decades.

Any flash memory you have will be discarded or lost or replaced long before it hits its write limit, and even then your data will still be readable/attainable.

Thanks a lot for the kind words and the comabump guys. I don't mean to brag or seem full of myself, but this album's reception has wildly exceeded my expectations, and a LOT of people have downloaded it, even with minimal promotion on my part. It's really heartening to have my hard work rewarded with such kind words from people I respect and look up to, and even a few people whom I want to sock in the kidneys. The thing that makes me happiest about all of this is the opportunity to do my part to establish the chip scene in Portland, and to legitimize what we do in the eyes of more and more people... It's been a thrill to see this weird thing that we do taken farther than I ever could have imagined, and only in these last two years I've been around... and to meet some of the best friends I have now on account of it. And to think, this is only the tip of the iceberg, really.

So apologies for my Engrish, apologies for my gushing, and more exciting shit to come.

On a sad note, FUNCH.LSDSNG was far less than expected.

I quite liked the prog song, it almost bordered on Guillotine Factory at times.

Just find one that turns on and use it. Worry about the details later.

This, just keep in mind that GBPockets corrupt saves on certain kinds of carts, supposedly.

In addition, I would invest in a good pair of headphones.

Get a DMG or an SP, those are generally the nicest to work with and have the best sound quality. Don't worry about modding your gameboy for now, just worry about writing music.
