I am drinking tea again now and listening to Le1f while I email the IT manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris about the return of some faulty telephones.

Sorry for the OT. I thought it might be a bit more interesting to provide some context.

My manager just asked me about a PO we just received from IBM as well.

my bet is on some random snare sample, or something he recorded from another bit of hardware.

if you have some experience with piano, then you should be able to get by with the few chords and scales you might already know. (or just stick to all the white keys or all the black keys smile )

from there I'd recommended playing with what you know and experiment from there.

sit with a keyboard next to you while you compose and you should become more confident.

more formal music theory might help in the future but if you are just starting out have fun with what you know.

same here. i feel that my proper releases should have a feel to them rather than just a bunch of random tracks banged together.

I've made more than enough music this year to put out several records but most of it doesn't fit together in a coherent release or it isn't good enough to release.

your music doesn't sound like IAYD, chipzel or sabrepulz :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

i deffo think that you could have gotten a warmer game boy sound to fit in nicer with the guitar, esp with the bassline

for snares play with a bunch of S commands in a table on the noise channel

or

use a snare sample in the wav channel. it sounds like you might have room to fit that in with the bass line (plus you then have the whole noise channel for fancy cymbals and hi hats and whooshing sounds)

or

use a really fast vibrato on a short pulse sound.

or

use a combo of the 3
