i made another one
i kinda feel that if you are going to bother going to such extremes/hardwork to alter the sound of the game boy then you might as well just ditch the game boy and use plogue.
i cant think of other animated films about animals. i dont really like the two that you have given because of the cutey disney soppyness that really turns me off in a mcdonalds happy meal toy tie in promotional way. i guess that princess mononoki has lots of good animals in but that is more of a fantasy story. this music sums up a lot of music perfectly thank you.
oh a town called panic has a really nice horse in it, so you should check that out if you haven't seen it already.
music can do whatver the fuck it wants to.
none of us have any control over it and its rarely worth getting jealous or angry over.
anyone who is going to make any money out of chip music is propably going to be one of the lizard people anyway.
@tctd_Official2 lol.
the little rabbits are so brave.
i love watership down. its like LOTR for people who prefer rabbits over goblins.
listen to your own music on acid, understand that the clicks and pops add an extra layer of depth to your music.
You dont need a modded game boy.
$160 seems reasonable if you intend to make a very decent donation to johan for LDSJ (considering the usb 64m smart card is only $39.00 on kitchbent and an old game boy should be next to nothing)
What attracts you to Nintendos consoles in particular? There are lots of other options beyond Nintendo (and FL!!)
the SDI docs suggest it might be 03 and 05 for ring mod, rather than 14 and 17
havnt used SDI but to use the ring mod it should just be a case of creating intruments that are just
14 - for ring mod
17 - for ring mod sync'd to another channel (usually the one to the left - ie ring mod on ch2 reads from channel 1, 3 reads from 2 and 1 reads from 3)
it reads instument info from the channel on the left, so if you dont have anything there it can be silent, or sound like the triangle.
so in ch1 create a short thing with a triangle instrument using 11
in ch2 create a short thing with ring mod inmtrument using 17
play and you should hear the ring mod.
use pitch bends, different notes, vibrato to made it sound more funky!
from your description in sounds like you are using a ring mod line in an instrument table that is working as a kick or whatever, you probably wont hear the effect of it that much that way.
Before you invest money, you should try and figure out what the fuck is going in goattracker on your mac. Or use Vice emulator and one of the many music programs available for free.
You dont say if you are happy with trackers or not, but i think that its definately worth the effort learning, rather than using Prophet or Mssiah.
You could use your SID in a HardSID or similar divice, but i dont think its worth tearing it out of your C128 as SIDs are only 15 euros with the device. I dont know if HardSID works on Mac though?
Also you should be able to pick up an old tv for free these days. Everyone is chucking them out for flatscreens and they work fine.
this site is very nice to help people choose
