Yeah I'm pretty sure we're gonna have to analyze the data one way or another. (and yes I think I have a couple of those dmg things just lying around... )
alrighty then! i dunno how much stats you've had to learn so far, but if you haven't done one-way ANOVAs yet then a latin squares design is probably going overboard. easier to stick with the plant stuff or something so that you only have to worry about a single factor.
Now the real question, what kind of plant would like to listen to chiptune? Any thoughts? haha.

then you just need to decide whether your DV will be plant size or maturation (and what your operational definition of these things will be).
oh my god i actually love designing experiments and research what is happening to me
are there any specific requirements for the project in terms of the number of sample groups or IVs? if you've already got a dmg collection (i mean what else do chip music people use amirite? ), you can investigate how different game boy cpu revisions keep time, using cpu load and tempo as blocking variables. do you need to do a statistical analysis?
re vocal mix: it's stark, but charming and deliberate. not everyone's cup of tea! but i really like it. maybe my headphones colour them more nicely?
yes this is actually grrrreat
now i need a crying x chalkboards split, go go go
we rule
got 5 seconds into the first track and was sold. this is great!
e: i think adding denser instrumentation (e.g. guitar and/or vox) would take this to another level though
making it less cpu intensive. even if that just means running the song at a slower tempo.
i would take out that first transpose and then either the C or V command. if the pulse channel ever gets a solo you can just make a copy of the instrument with all the bells and whistles.
yeah combining V, P and C commands is a pretty surefire way to get slowdown on DMG/Pocket. you can optimize that pulse drum to make it less taxing on the processor by taking away one of those commands and still achieve a pretty similar sound.
yeah binaural recordings are tricky like that. it should be theoretically possible to do two separate monaural recordings of the exact same source with the microphone placed appropriately each time, realign the phase and pan appropriately in post and end up with what is essentially a binaural recording. not really a practical method, especially re: the first part, and the results aren't nearly as good as if you had just used two mics.
it gave me at least one reason to visit an oncology ward for an indefinite time
just kidding i didn't watch it
i'll be recording a gb + flute ep in a legit concert hall sometime in the next few months. it's exciting!
do it yea
