I think Nanoloop is just geared towards making loops whereas LSDJ is more for songwriting. In my experience with Nanoloop one I've found that it's pretty hard to write a song with long melodies, so you have to focus on fitting your idea in one or two patterns. Not necessarily bad, but it's not my style.

Hi, I'm not new here.

This is actually really good for a first song. You say you're "generally new" to making music. How much musical experience do you have? There could be some more harmony underneath the melody (maybe have the second pulse channel do a harmony line instead of doing an octave unison on the first), and there's some questionable bass notes, but overall it's a lot better than most first songs I've heard.

Sometimes I'll listen to a song (might not even be one that I like) and there'll be one element in there that I think is really cool, so I try and write a song based around that element. Other times an idea will just pop into my head during the most unexpected moments (shower, toilet, math class, an all-day tour of a city) and if I can write it down quick enough it becomes a song.

You could try also hosting it on archive.org or something. That way it can be unlimited free downloads.

Songs have lyrics. These do not, so technically they aren't songs.

VCMG

I don't play too often, though, and I don't have a Live Gold subscription, so all I can do is chat with people.

I play video games (mostly Tribes: Ascend and all the Valve games ever made), rehearse in 2 youth orchestras and go to school and do homework.

Why did it have to be fucking Vince Clarke and Martin Gore

Also their fans are dicks because they pushed me off my own Last.FM page. Someone put me back in the bio, but now I'm just a blurb hidden in the Read More... section.

2xAA has a minecraft server. I forget the IP, though.

i mention this only because i've had to erase a few songs to make room for new ones on my cartridges, which has this neat almost buddhist quality to it, whereas when recording in cubase or something i can just dump the finished tracks onto a portable hard drive without a second thought.

You can transfer songs from LSDJ to your computer by USB or a transfer plug. Unless you can't acquire a transfer plug and your flash cart doesn't have a USB port, there's no need to delete them.

If you can't do an audio stream then at least have someone record the sets.

This might come in handy for something I'm working on right now.
